Job Description

Nissan is seeking a Process Engineering Intern for a full-time, 12-week program in Summer 2026 at Decherd Powertrain Assembly in Decherd, TN. This role offers hands-on experience with highly skilled engineers, focusing on high automation engine processes and project management. Interns will lead a project and present findings to department leadership, gaining exposure to electro-mechanical engineering disciplines.
Good To Have:
  • Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics Engineering preferred, or a related Engineering field
  • AutoCAD, Inventor, O-scope, Multimeter, Data analysis, Gen-AI, Data Science experience is preferred
Must Have:
  • Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate/graduate degree program in an engineering discipline from an accredited school.
  • GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Skilled in Microsoft office Excel and PowerPoint Presentations
  • Strong communication skills both written and oral
  • Strong organization ability with keen attention to detail
  • Ability to perform work onsite in Decherd, TN. M-F

We are currently looking for a Process Engineering Intern to join our team at Decherd Powertrain Assembly. This will be a full-time role for the Summer of 2026 and is a 12-week program.

As a Process Engineering Intern, you will work with highly skilled engineers to produce some of the highest quality engines in the world. You will get hands on experience encompassing all areas of engineering. Most automation at the plant is highly electro-mechanical that will directly relate to the engineering discipline of study.

A Day in the Life:

  • Learn high automation Engine processes
  • Learn Project Management skills
  • Lead a project in the department and perform a final presentation to department leadership

Who We’re Looking for:

Required:

  • Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate/graduate degree program in an engineering discipline from an accredited school. Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering preferred, or a related Engineering field
  • GPA of 3.0 or above
  • AutoCAD, Inventor, O-scope, Multimeter, Data analysis, Gen-AI, Data Science experience is preferred
  • Be self-motivated and willing to challenge yourself to develop your talents and skill sets
  • Skilled in Microsoft office Excel and PowerPoint Presentations
  • Strong communication skills both written and oral
  • Strong organization ability with keen attention to detail
  • Ability to perform work onsite in Decherd, TN. M-F
