Job Description

The Sr Revenue Accountant II will lead a team and ensure accurate, timely revenue recording according to US GAAP and company policies. Responsibilities include managing the month-end close, preparing reconciliations, reviewing agreements, and working with various departments. The role involves ensuring compliance and supporting audits. Key tasks include team management, process improvement, and collaboration with sales, finance, tax, and legal teams. The candidate will be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks related to revenue recognition.
Must have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • Five to seven years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Strong team management and development skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
Good to have:
  • Public accounting / assurance experience preferred.
  • ASC 606 experience preferred.
  • Experience using Workday, Upland, Salesforce, Microsoft Office applications.

Location: US-Remote or Dallas/Scottsdale Offices

What You'll Do:

  • Team lead who will indirectly manage, develop and assist a team of 3-5 direct reports
  • Ensure revenue activity is recorded within the Company’s books accurately, timely, complete and in accordance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Company revenue accounting policies and procedures
  • Manage the month-end revenue close process, including reviewing and approving billing and revenue schedules, reviewing and posting journal entry accruals and reclasses, preparation and review of account reconciliations, and creation of revenue allocations, to help ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Prepare and review quarterly flux explanations for select balance sheet and income statement accounts
  • Review and approve professional services agreements, ensuring accuracy of contract set up in financial system
  • Evaluate current processes and procedures, make recommendations that improve efficiencies and provides analysis to support internal customers
  • Work closely with the revenue recognition and quote to cash teams to help ensure compliance with the company’s revenue recognition and contracting policies
  • Build effective working relationships with other departments including Sales, Finance, Tax, Legal, and the General Accounting / Controllership organization
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and SOX requirements
  • Interact with external and internal auditors to provide support as needed
  • Escalate issues and meet deadlines

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting. CPA preferred
  • Five to seven years of relevant accounting experience
  • Public accounting / assurance experience preferred
  • ASC 606 experience preferred
  • Strong team management and development skills
  • Willingness to support multiple time zones
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience using Workday, Upland, Salesforce, Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, forward-thinking and problem-solving skills

The base salary range for this position is: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 USD

The salary range information provided, reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data.  Minimums and maximums may vary based on location.  Individual salary will be commensurate with skills, experience, certifications or licenses and other relevant factors.  In addition, this role will be eligible to participate in either the annual performance bonus or commission program, determined by the nature of the position.
