The Strategic Account Executive is an advanced individual contributor role at Syniverse, focusing on developing new markets and channels to drive revenue growth. This hunter/account management position involves seeking new opportunities with new customers, cross-selling and upselling emerging products to existing clients, and ensuring revenue retention through renewals. The role requires close collaboration with internal teams to align products, ensure technical feasibility, and deliver critical business benefits.
Must have:
  • Hunt and close new logo opportunities.
  • Build relationships with prospects, deliver sales presentations, negotiate and close deals.
  • Negotiate and close Alliance Channel deals.
  • Discover customer needs and develop appropriate solutions and pricing schedules.
  • Consistently maintain a solid pipeline that supports and exceeds revenue forecasts.
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years in technology sales.
  • Knowledge of spreadsheet and Salesforce software.
  • Proven track record in building pipeline, closing sales, and exceeding budget/quota.
  • Strategic thinker and versed in solution selling.
  • Ability to solve practical problems.
  • Action and results oriented, business savvy, and adaptable.
  • Team player.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • High level of activity and sense of urgency.
  • Ability to travel 50%.

Who We're Looking For

The Strategic Account Executive is an advanced level individual contributor, who is focused on developing new markets and possibly new channel opportunities that has both top line revenue growth, and growth impact to Syniverse. This Hunter/Account Management position will seek out new opportunities with new customers and market segments, will cross sell and upsell new and emerging products to existing customers, and will ensure revenue retention through renewing existing business. This role will work closely with all facets of the organization, to ensure there are internal product alignment, technical feasibility and critical business benefits.

Scope of the Role:

  • Direct Reports: This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hunt and close new logo opportunities.
  • Build relationships with prospects, deliver sales presentations, negotiate and close deals.
  • Negotiate and close Alliance Channel deals.
  • Discover customer needs and develop appropriate solutions and pricing schedules.
  • Attend industry events in order to network with relevant stakeholders, gain industry insight and represent the firm in the marketplace.
  • Consistently maintain a solid pipeline that supports and exceeds revenue forecasts.
  • Analyze and control expenses to conform to budgetary requirements.
  • Prepare periodic sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client or partner base expansion.
  • Maintain accuracy with online systems designed to report status and progress ie: Salesforce.com, Appian etc.
  • Engage appropriate resources to build compelling value propositions and to ensure appropriate level of support to win the opportunity.

Experience, Education, and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years in technology sales.
  • Knowledge of spreadsheet and Salesforce software.
  • A proven track record in building pipeline, closing sales, and exceeding budget/quota.

Additional Requirements:

  • Be a strategic thinker and versed in solution selling.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Must be action and results oriented, business savvy, and, adaptable.
  • Must be able to be a team player.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • High level of activity and sense of urgency.
  • Travel required for this position is 50%.
