Job Description

This role leads the planning to optimize the Global supply chain and connects to the Global Supply Chain organization through supply planners and regional planning contacts. The director sponsors center of excellence activities related to ASCM processes within the plant and externally. They manage all supply chain activities for the Lincoln Site, including Site Logistics and Distribution, plant-level demand-driven scheduling and planning, and serving as a plant liaison to Direct Sourcing and Regional Supply planning personnel.
Must have:
  • Manages all supply chain activities for the Lincoln Site, including Site Logistics and Distribution.

  • Acts as Plant liaison to Direct Sourcing and Regional Supply planning personnel.
  • Manages 3-6 direct supervisors and 30-50 employees within Supply Chain functions.
  • Responsible for overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.
  • Carries out leader responsibilities in accordance with policies and laws.
  • Directs planning, scheduling, and controlling of production and inventories.
  • Procures all materials and supplies to support production plan and plant operations.
  • Ensures and manages adequate and effective warehousing facilities.
  • Partners with Manufacturing, Quality assurance, Human Resources, Engineering, and Finance.
  • Leads plant to ensure support for optimization of Global supply chain.
  • Provides connection to Global Supply Chain organization via Supply planner and Regional planning contacts.
  • Sponsors center of excellence activities related to ASCM process.
  • Implements plans and programs for best-in-class materials management systems.
  • Accountable for all departmental budgets and spending.
  • Ensures systems and controls to optimize MRP, forecasting, plant connections.
  • Owns capacity management process and supplies detailed inputs for analysis.
  • Sponsors process for VSM updating within plant.

About the role

Leads plan to ensure support for optimization of Global supply chain and provide connection to Global Supply Chain organization via Supply planner and Regional planning contacts. Sponsors center of excellence activities related to Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM) process within plant and outwardly to Global supply organization. Manages all activities related to supply chain for the Lincoln Site. This would include performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors; Site Logistics and Distribution, Plant level demand driven scheduling and planning, Plant liaison to Direct Sourcing and Regional Supply planning personnel.

Role Responsibilities

  • Manages all activities related to supply chain for the Lincoln Site. This would include performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors; Site Logistics and Distribution, Plant level demand driven scheduling and planning, Plant liaison to Direct Sourcing and Regional Supply planning personnel.
  • Manages 3-6 direct supervisors and a total of 30-50 employees within Supply Chain functions. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out leader responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Responsible for directing the planning, scheduling, and controlling of production and inventories. Procuring all materials and supplies to support the production plan and plant operations.
  • Ensure and manage adequate and effective warehousing facilities – control and direction to shipping and receiving / warehouse departments.
  • Partners with functions to include Manufacturing, Quality assurance, Human Resources, Engineering, and Finance to ensure execution plant production commitments.
  • Leads plant to ensure support for optimization of Global supply chain, and provides connection to Global Supply Chain organization via Supply planner and Regional planning contacts. Sponsors center of excellence activities related to Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM) process within plant and outwardly to Global supply organization.
  • Implementing plans and programs to provide best-in-class materials management systems and processes at the lowest possible costs. Accountable for all departmental budgets and spending to meet or exceed business planning targets.
  • Responsible to ensure systems and controls to optimize MRP, forecasting, plant connections and information flow for S&OP, Item Master, Bill of Materials, Work center masters, etc.
  • Owns capacity management process as well as supplying detail inputs for capacity analysis and ensures consistent capacity assessments/asset allocation throughout plant.
  • Sponsors process for VSM updating within plant and ensures connection to Global

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Logistics and/or Engineering is required.
  • Must possess a minimum of 10+ years total work experience in Manufacturing and/or Logistics within the Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, Consumer or related industry.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to create, cultivate and implement change is required.
  • Must possess excellent stakeholder management skills with strong knowledge and partnering abilities within all business functions.
  • Must be able to reach out beyond organizational and hierarchical boundaries.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ASCM/CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) preferred
  • Master's Degree
