Job Description

We are hiring a remote Surgical Scheduler who will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling surgical procedures across one or more medical facilities. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and familiarity with surgical protocols and insurance requirements. You will work closely with surgeons, clinical staff, patients, and insurance providers to manage all aspects of the surgical scheduling process remotely.
Good To Have:
  • Familiarity with insurance authorization processes
  • Experience coordinating with hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, or multi-specialty practices
  • Bilingual (Spanish or other languages) a plus.
Must Have:
  • Schedule and confirm surgical procedures with patients, physicians, and surgical teams
  • Coordinate pre-operative and post-operative appointments and instructions
  • Verify patient demographics, insurance coverage, and authorization requirements
  • Communicate effectively with hospitals, surgical centers, and referring offices
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date scheduling records in EMR/EHR systems
  • Ensure compliance with clinical guidelines and facility protocols
  • Respond promptly to scheduling inquiries, cancellations, and rescheduling requests
  • Provide clear and compassionate communication to patients regarding procedures, preparation, and expectations
  • 1+ year of experience in surgical scheduling or medical office administration
  • Proficient with EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, or equivalent)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting
  • HIPAA-compliant home office setup
