Ansys, now part of Synopsys, is seeking a Systems Administrator to configure, enhance, and support business infrastructure systems. This role involves validating business requirements, performing system configurations, and providing expertise to IT and business units. The Systems Administrator will perform advanced installation and maintenance of core infrastructure and client systems, conduct root-cause analysis for network, hardware, and software issues, and routinely upgrade existing infrastructure systems. They will also deploy and maintain hardware and software, collaborate with business unit teams to improve systems, and work with other IT functions on complex business requirements.
Must have:
  • Associate degree
  • 1 year experience in Unix, Windows, networking, and security
  • Understanding of operating system concepts
  • Understanding of distributed computing environments
  • Ability to identify and remedy hardware/software failures
  • Experience installing/configuring workstations
  • User support experience (including remote)

The Systems Administrator configures, enhances and supports business infrastructure systems in support of ANSYS business. The role is responsible for the validation of basic business requirements and design approaches, basic and advanced system configuration on IT systems and environments, and providing expertise to IT and the business units in a limited subject matter field. This role is able to work independently with moderate supervision and participate as a technology resource in larger projects.

 

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Has specialist knowledge of at least one subject matter area
Performs advanced installation and maintenance of core infrastructure and client systems
Performs root-cause analysis: resolves network, hardware and software issues with infrastructure and client systems
Routinely performs upgrades to the existing infrastructure systems
Deploys and maintains hardware and software in support of the business
Works with the business unit teams to support & improve systems
Collaborates with other IT functions on complex business requirements, including design and integration points
 

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

Associate degree
Minimum of 1 years of Unix, Windows, networking and security
Detailed understanding of operating system concepts
Detailed understanding of distributed computing environment concepts
Ability to identify and remedy hardware and software failures
Experience installing and configuring workstations
User support experience, including remote support
Demonstrated ability working and leading collaborative teams
