We are seeking a technical and creative Technical Animator with expertise in modular hard-surface rigging for transformable vehicles. The role involves creating scalable rigs, performing occasional hand-keyed animation for mechanical parts, and developing tools and workflows to optimize the animation pipeline. Responsibilities include designing and implementing modular rigging systems, creating simple hand-keyed animations for mechanical components or cinematics, and developing animation-friendly controls. Collaboration with modeling, animation, and engineering teams is crucial to ensure asset and rig compatibility. The position also requires building and maintaining tools/scripts (Python/MEL in Maya) for automation, defining and documenting best practices for hard-surface rigging, and assisting with rig/animation debugging within the engine.
