Responsibilities include designing modular rigging systems, implementing animation-friendly controls, collaborating with other departments for asset and rig compatibility, building and maintaining tools and scripts, defining best practices for rigging workflows, and assisting with debugging rig and animation issues within the engine.

Job Description
We are looking for a highly technical and creative Technical Animator to join our animation team, with a focus on modular hard-surface rigging, particularly for transformable vehicles. This role will involve building scalable rigs, occasional hand-keyed animation of mechanical parts, and developing tools and workflows to streamline the animation pipeline for these systems.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement modular rigging systems for mechanical and transformable vehicle assets.
- Occasionally create simple, clean hand-keyed animation for moving mechanical pieces or cinematics.
- Implement animation-friendly controls and interfaces for animators.
- Collaborate with modeling, animation, and engineering to ensure asset and rig compatibility across the pipeline.
- Build and maintain tools/scripts (preferably in Python/MEL within Maya) to automate rigging, baking, export, and integration.
- Define and document best practices for hard-surface rigging workflows and maintain pipeline over time.
- Help debug and support rig/animation issues in-engine.
