Job Description

The Traffic Coordinator will be responsible for securing and entering advertising traffic instructions, managing copy information using ad management software, and maintaining instruction files. They will collaborate with account executives, traffic management, clients, and agencies. Additionally, they will serve as a backup to the traffic log editor, ensuring commercials are scheduled correctly, and providing the engineering department with the necessary information. The role requires adaptability, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Overtime may be required.

Are you a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment? Join our team at WXMI as a Traffic Coordinator where you'll play a crucial role in ensuring our advertisers' messages reach their intended audiences with precision and accuracy.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Secure and enter advertising traffic instructions for advertisers
  • Enter copy information using ad management traffic software
  • Maintain instruction files, tape library, and various other traffic functions
  • Work closely with account executives, traffic management, clients and agencies
  • Act as back-up to traffic log editor, ensuring commercials are scheduled in appropriate time slots
  • Provide engineering department with necessary information for commercial placement
  • May require limited overtime to cover vacations and holidays

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1 year minimum related experience preferred
  • Previous broadcast experience with ad management and traffic systems (WideOrbit, OSI, etc.) desirable

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Proficiency with MS Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Ability to adhere to strict deadlines and complete work accurately
  • Adaptability and flexibility to shift focus in fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Team-oriented approach and experience working in collaborative settings
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
