Job Description

The Video Computer Vision organization at Apple is seeking a talented 3D Perception/Computer Vision Algorithm Engineer to develop exciting technologies for future products. This role focuses on real-time, low-power world tracking and sensor calibration using VIO, SLAM, and ML solutions, contributing to ARKit in iOS and Vision OS. You will create impactful computer vision algorithms for augmented reality and device localization, working cross-functionally to deliver groundbreaking solutions and support external teams.
Good To Have:
  • MS or PhD in computer vision, machine learning, robotics, or related fields.
  • Understanding of visual inertial sensor fusion or general sensor fusion is a plus.
  • Experience in developing, training and tuning ML models related to the above areas is a plus.
Must Have:
  • BS and a minimum of 3 years relevant industry or academia experience.
  • Programming skills with C++.
  • Foundation in computer vision, including multiple view geometry, 3D computer vision, SfM, and SLAM.

The Video Computer Vision organization is working on exciting technologies for future products. Our focus is on real time and low power world tracking and sensor calibration based on VIO, SLAM and ML solutions. We have contributed to the ARKit in both iOS and Vision OS devices. We are looking for a talented engineer to help us take our efforts to the next level. In this role, you will work together with similar minds in a unique research and development team where your skills and expertise will be put into the products. This role is highly multi-functional and you will work very closely with various highly skilled software development / ML teams developing groundbreaking algorithms.

You will create computer vision algorithms and deliver technologies with applications to augmented reality and device localization that are impactful, meaningful, and influential. We work closely with best-in-class designers to ensure the products we ship are more than technical demos – they resonate with users at a personal level. In this role you will be working on a wide range of responsibilities: core technology algorithm development in support of future user experiences; communicating with and supporting external teams that use our algorithms; supporting low-level, cross-platform efforts; participating in code reviews; and being a constant advocate within the team for high quality results.

  • BS and a minimum of 3 years relevant industry or academia experience.
  • Programming skills with C++.
  • Foundation in computer vision; key areas of interest include multiple view geometry, 3D computer vision, SfM (Structure from Motion) and SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping).
  • MS or PhD in computer vision, machine learning, robotics, or related fields.

  • Experience in developing, training and tuning ML model related to the above areas is a plus.

At, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 and $272,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
