Job Summary
Medidata is seeking an Account Executive to achieve revenue objectives in assigned territories by identifying and qualifying sales opportunities and leveraging resources. The role involves developing and executing strategic account management plans, maintaining high customer satisfaction, and representing Medidata consistent with company principles. The ideal candidate will have strong life sciences industry knowledge, a proven track record in sales, and experience with SaaS software, reporting to the Director of Mid Market Sales.
Must Have
- Develop and execute strategic account management plans for assigned accounts
- Attainment of all revenue and booking targets within assigned territory
- Represent Medidata in a manner consistent with company principles and ethics
- Coordinate resources within sales and other departments
- Maintain and update account and opportunity data within company systems as directed, including Salesforce.com
- Strong knowledge of life sciences industry, ideally within clinical and/or R&D
- Demonstrated consistent track record of being a trusted advisor within nominated accounts
- Ability to orchestrate and manage complex sales opportunities
- Use a consultative approach to accomplish positive outcomes for clients
- Demonstrated consistent track record in exceeding sales and related account targets
- SaaS / application software experience
- Demonstrated success with process approached selling
- Bachelor's degree required, or equivalent experience

About the Team:
Achieving revenue objectives in geographic or specifically-named account territories including identifying sales opportunities, qualifying opportunities, and efficiently leveraging resources in order to bring opportunities to successful conclusion. In addition, you will maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and personal involvement in customer relationships in order to remain consistent with Medidata business principals.
You will report into the Director of Mid Market Sales.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic account management plans for assigned accounts
- Attainment of all revenue and booking targets within assigned territory
- Represent Medidata in a manner consistent with company principles and ethics
- Coordinate resources within sales and other departments
- Maintain and update account and opportunity data within company systems as directed, including Salesforce.com
- Quarterly and/or annual sales targets are covered under a separate document
Qualifications:
- You will have a strong knowledge of life sciences industry, ideally within clinical and/or R&D.
- Demonstrated consistent track record of being a trusted advisor within nominated accounts
- You will have the ability to orchestrate and manage complex sales opportunities.
- Use a consultative approach to accomplish positive outcomes for clients
- Demonstrated consistent track record in exceeding sales and related account targets
- SaaS / application software experience
- Demonstrated success with process approached selling

Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata's non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses.
