Accountant

Our client, a reputable accountancy practice on the Gold Coast, is seeking an Accountant to provide accounting and bookkeeping services. The role involves preparing financial reports, income tax returns, and BAS returns for various entity types and small to medium businesses. Responsibilities also include assisting with compliance, managing outsourced work, and liaising with clients. Must Have

• Minimum two years’ experience in public practice accounting or bookkeeping roles
• Experience working with small to medium business clients across multiple industries
• Exposure to multiple entity types including companies, trusts, SMSFs, and individuals
• Working knowledge of accounting software including MYOB, Xero, Reckon, Access, or Class
• Strong understanding of accounting systems with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong work ethic and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating reliability and strong organisation
• Tertiary Accounting Qualification
• Experience with Financial Statements & Tax Returns

About The Opportunity

The primary purpose of this role is to provide accounting and bookkeeping services within a public practise environment. Some of your responsibilities will include:

• Preparation of financial reports and income tax returns for multiple entity types
• Preparation and lodgement of BAS returns for small to medium businesses clients
• Assisting business clients with compliance and management matters advisory
• Undertaking general public practice accounting across a range of industries sectors
• Managing the outsourcing and offshore work that is is utilised by the business as a third party
• Liaising with clients and stakeholders to manage queries and ongoing requirements effectively

About You

The successful candidate will have:
