AM Producer, News

We are seeking an AM Producer for our morning newscast in Lexington, KY. This role involves leading the newsroom team, producing newscasts for all platforms, writing and ordering news stories, approving scripts, balancing content, editing video, and creating digital stories. The ideal candidate enjoys a dynamic environment and is focused on delivering compelling broadcasts to viewers.

Must Have

• Produce newscasts for broadcast across all platforms
• Write and order news stories
• Approve scripts
• Balance news and feature content to create compelling broadcasts
• Edit video
• Write stories for digital platforms
• Interact with viewers and users on social media sites
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field, or equivalent experience
• Fluency in English
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Minimum two years’ experience in news operations
• Proficiency with office equipment (computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines)
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Flexibility to work any shift
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record

• Edits video
• Writes stories for digital platforms
• Interact with viewers and users on social media sites
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
• Fluency in English
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Minimum two years’ experience in news operations (Depending on market size)
• Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Flexibility to work any shift
• Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
