Job Summary
WDAF-TV offers an unpaid capstone internship in Kansas City for qualified students studying broadcast journalism, video production, or other communication degrees. Interns will gain meaningful learning experience in areas such as news producing, reporting, production, and digital news, working 16-24 hours per week for up to 12 weeks.
Must Have

- Exert best efforts in receiving training and cooperate with and follow the instructions of employees of Company
- Maintain strictly the confidences of Company, its customers, and all confidential business information

Job Description
WDAF-TV in Kansas City has an unpaid capstone project available for qualified students studying broadcast journalism, video production, and other communication degrees. Area of interest could include: News Producing, News Reporting, News Production and Digital News
Requirements & Skills:
o Must receive capstone credit
o Possess strong communication skills
o Flexible in learning a variety of assignments and tasks
o A collaborative worker with a willingness to learn
o Priority will be given to college juniors and seniors
Capstone Details:
o Each capstone is for 16-24 hours per week for up to 12 weeks, depending on requirements for credit. (Dates are January – May 2026)
o Shifts could include early mornings, days, or nights.
o Capstone students will be supervised by an appropriate news manager and participate in a meaningful learning experience.
o This is an unpaid capstone, and the student is not entitled to wages or any compensation or benefits for the time spent in the internship.
The Student shall:
o Abide by all safety rules and procedures of Company.
o Exert best efforts in receiving training and cooperate with and follow the instructions of employees of Company.
o Maintain strictly the confidences of Company, the customers of Company, all information or data received regarding Company, and any of its trade secrets or any other confidential business information received by the Student.
