Job Description

Marvell's Central Engineering organization is seeking highly motivated graduate interns (MSc or early-stage PhD) for their Analog/Mixed-Signal IC and AI Systems R&D team. This internship offers hands-on experience in IC design, system integration, and AI tooling, with mentorship from industry leaders. Interns will contribute to real projects driving Marvell’s product and R&D roadmap, working in a fast-paced, cross-disciplinary environment.
Good To Have:
  • Prior internship or research experience in IC design, AI workflows, or system modeling.
  • Exposure to lab testing and silicon correlation.
  • Familiarity with scripting (Python, MATLAB) or data visualization tools.
Must Have:
  • Enrolled in a Master’s or early-stage PhD program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Strong fundamentals in one or more of the following: Analog/mixed-signal IC design, Signal processing, control theory, or convex optimization, Deep learning systems or model development.
  • Experience with either circuit design tools (Cadence, Spectre, etc.) or AI frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc.).
  • Excellent analytical thinking, communication, and a growth mindset.

Interns will be embedded in a fast-paced, cross-disciplinary team that sits at the intersection of IC design, system integration, and AI tooling. You’ll gain hands-on experience, receive mentorship from industry leaders, and contribute to real projects that drive Marvell’s product and R&D roadmap.

What You Can Expect

What You’ll Do

Depending on your background and interests, you’ll work in one or more of the following areas:

Analog/Mixed-Signal IC Design

  • Support the design and simulation of building blocks such as PLLs, regulators, buffers, and SERDES circuits.
  • Learn industry-standard tools (e.g., Spectre, Virtuoso, MATLAB, python) and assist in analyzing performance trade-offs.
  • Help correlate simulation results with silicon data in lab environments.

AI Systems and Hardware-Aware Modeling

  • Explore AI workflows and develop scripts/models that assist in IC calibration, prediction, or optimization.
  • Contribute to prototyping and automation tasks involving Python, PyTorch, or other ML frameworks.

System Integration & Automation

  • Participate in cross-functional work that brings together hardware, software, and algorithm layers.
  • Assist with system-level test setups, data analysis, and verification tasks.

Team Collaboration & Technical Growth

  • Join a collaborative team environment that encourages asking questions, sharing ideas, and thinking beyond your current domain.
  • Work alongside experienced engineers and researchers to learn best practices and deepen your technical foundation.

What We're Looking For

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in a Master’s or early-stage PhD program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Strong fundamentals in one or more of the following:
  • Analog/mixed-signal IC design
  • Signal processing, control theory, or convex optimization
  • Deep learning systems or model development
  • Experience with either circuit design tools (Cadence, Spectre, etc.) or AI frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc.)
  • Excellent analytical thinking, communication, and a growth mindset.

Preferred (but not required):

  • Prior internship or research experience in IC design, AI workflows, or system modeling
  • Exposure to lab testing and silicon correlation
  • Familiarity with scripting (Python, MATLAB) or data visualization tools

Expected Base Pay Range (USD)

31 - 61, $ per hour.

The successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location and market conditions. The expected base pay range for this role may be modified based on market conditions.
