Android Java Developer

JOB OVERVIEW

Plan A Technologies is looking for an Android Java Developer with strong skills in Java, UI development, and Android device integration to join our growing mobile engineering team. You will be responsible for building modern, responsive Android applications that provide seamless user experiences and integrate effectively with Android devices and services.

This role is ideal for developers who are passionate about mobile technologies and eager to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Availability to travel occasionally to Mangalore for team collaboration is a strong plus. This is an exciting job with room for significant career growth. 

Please Note: You must have at least 5+ years with proven experience with Android Java to be considered.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY

• Develop and maintain Android applications using Java, following modern architecture and coding standards.

• Design and implement clean, user-friendly UI components and layouts.

• Work closely with designers and product managers to deliver intuitive, high-quality mobile experiences.

• Integrate Android apps with native device features (e.g., Bluetooth, sensors, camera, background services, etc.).

• Ensure app performance, responsiveness, and reliability across a range of devices and OS versions.

• Debug and resolve application issues and bottlenecks.

• Participate in code reviews, testing, and CI/CD processes.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including backend developers, QA, and DevOps.

EXPERIENCE

• 5+ years of professional experience developing Android apps using Java.

• Solid understanding of the Android SDK, UI components, layouts, and life cycle.

• Experience with device integrations (Bluetooth, sensors, hardware APIs, etc.).

• Knowledge of RESTful API integration, JSON parsing, and network handling.

• Experience with version control (e.g., Git) and collaborative development tools.

• Good understanding of app security, performance optimization, and testing strategies.

• Experience with Kotlin is a plus.

• Familiarity with Android Jetpack components (e.g., ViewModel, LiveData).

• Previous experience working on IoT or hardware-integrated apps.

• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

• Excellent communication skills — fluent in English language (verbal and written).

• Must have an organized and analytical working style, and the ability to plan your own work.
