Reach Game Studios is seeking a talented Animator to work on their upcoming FPS RPG, GLORY. As an animator, you will collaborate with designers, artists, and programmers to shape key animation requirements, ensuring they meet technical engine specifications. Responsibilities include rigging and animating various character models, creating animation trees, and developing efficient animation methodologies. The role involves working within small, multi-disciplinary teams. The position is currently a contract royalty-based position, with a view to full-time employment post-launch. Contract amount is competitive and negotiable.
Must have:
  • Showreel demonstrating rigging and animation experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of Autodesk Maya and other 3D/animation software.
Good to have:
  • Familiarity with the Unreal Engine and its animation pipelines.

Reach Game Studios is looking for a talented arnimator to work on the studio's upcoming FPS RPG, GLORY.

Responsibilities:

As an animator you will be responsible for:

  • Working with Designers and Artists to shape the key requirements for animations.
  • Working with the Programmers and Engineers to ensure animations meet technical engine requirements.
  • Working within small multi-disciplinary teams focused on related tasks.
  • Rigging and animating characters (bi-pedal, quad-pedal and beyond!) and other 3D models as required, paying close attention to technical requirements whilst producing high-quality animations.
  • Importing animations in-engine and using engine tools to create animation trees.
  • Working with your team to develop and design proven methodologies for creating and importing animations.
  • Collaborating with Artists as required to achieve desired outcomes.

Requirements:

For this role we are looking for:

  • A showreel demonstrating experience in rigging and animating (no prior shipped titles are required for this position).
  • Familiarity with the Unreal Engine and its animation pipelines preferred but not essential.
  • Thorough knowledge of Autodesk Maya and other 3D/animation software and pipelines.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent team-working and leadership skills.
  • A passion for videogames, science fiction, RPGs, and/or shooters preferred.

Remuneration:

The position is currently a contract royalty-based position, with view to full-time employment post-launch. Contract amount is competitive and negotiable.

Location:

While we prioritize Australian/New Zealand applicants, we are a remote studio and consider international applications.
