This role involves providing technical and production support for a large-scale global financial software product, including some shifted hours and working closely with our New York-based team for 24x7 coverage. Responsibilities include maintaining software applications, implementing DevOps practices, providing 24x7 client-facing technical support, resolving incidents, and mentoring team members. The candidate will also be involved in defining software system requirements, leading incident responses, and communicating complex information clearly.
Must have:
  • 1-2 years of Cloud Computing experience (AWS or Azure)
  • Proficiency in Azure or AWS Cloud Technologies
  • Experience with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash)
  • Strong knowledge of Windows or Linux environments
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Familiarity with Version Control and CI/CD Tools
Good to have:
  • Programming experience with SDK, VS Code extensions, Copilot, Power Platform is preferred
  • ITIL or Azure/AWS certification
  • Experience in Financial or Investment Banking environments

Role Summary: We are seeking an Application Technical Support Engineer (SRE Engineer) to join our dynamic team in Taipei, Taiwan. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, background in automation and observability, excellent communication abilities, a solid work ethic, and a willingness to learn. This role involves providing technical and production support for a large-scale global financial software product, including some shifted hours and working closely with our New York based team to provide 24x7 coverage, and will include some shifted hours including Saturday coverage. Ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our systems, as well as implementing and maintaining observability and automation best practices. This position entails following key responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities/What you will be doing:

  • Maintains software applications with a focus on scalability, reliability, automation, and performance.

  • Maintains services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health.

  • Implements and maintains DevOps practices, including continuous integration, deployment, and automated testing. Manages software configurations and release processes.

  • Provides Level 1,2 24x7 client facing technical and production support, including out-of-hours and on-call support.

  • Improves the whole lifecycle of services from inception and design, through deployment, operation, and refinement. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to define software system requirements and objectives.

  • Leads sustainable and efficient incident response. Resolve incidents and problems, including monitoring ServiceNow for issues and applying resolutions following the Change Management procedure. Update relevant documentation in Confluence.

  • Provides mentorship to other team members on handling availability and performance of critical services, on building automation to prevent problem recurrence, and on building automated responses for non-exceptional service conditions.

  • Communicates with clarity and precision, presenting complex / technical information in a concise format that is audience appropriate.

Required Skills/What you’ll bring:

  • 1 to 2 years of professional experience in Cloud Computing technologies (AWS or Azure) and SRE practices.

  • Proficiency in Azure Cloud Technologies (AKS, ACR, Azure Functions, Azure Web App, storage, Containers, LLM) or AWS Cloud Technologies (RDS, CloudFront, DynamoDB, Elastic Beanstalk, Lambda, CloudWatch, Kinesis, LLM).

  • Programming experience with scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.

  • Programming experience with SDK, VS Code extensions, Copilot, Power Platform is preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of Windows or Linux environments, including system administration, networking, IAM, basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Fluent in Mandarin.

  • Familiarity with Version Control Tools and CI/CD Tools (Git, GitLab) and related concepts such as branching/versioning strategies. Coordinate the release process for new releases.

  • Ability to stay updated on industry trends and advancements in technologies, recommending changes to improve system reliability and performance.

  • Maintain effective working relationships with Customer Support, Compliance, Development, Quality, and other teams.

  • Strong understanding of product development lifecycle and methodologies.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with IT, business teams, and senior management.

  • Work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • ITIL or Azure/AWS certification is a plus.

  • Experience in Financial or Investment Banking environments is preferred.
