Job Description

Senior Executive - Financial Accounting and Control will manage financial accounting and control services for LSEG subsidiaries, focusing on operational improvement, resilience, and onboarding new scope. This pivotal role requires project management, technical skills, and stakeholder management. Responsibilities include timely and accurate financial reporting, journal postings, reconciliations, intercompany recharges, ensuring adherence to LSEG policies, supporting external audits, assisting with scope onboarding, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

  • Fluency in written and spoken English.

Position Summary

Senior Executive - Financial Accounting and Control will be responsible for handling the financial accounting and control related services provided by the finance CoE to the subsidiaries of the London Stock Exchange Group. The role is focused on driving the centralised services provided to the operational improvement, building resilience and working with key collaborators to on board new scope.

The successful candidate will hold a pivotal role in the Finance CoE team and require project management skills, technical skills, and the ability to proactively manage key stakeholder relationships.

Role Responsibilities

  • Responsible for timely and accurate delivery financial reporting and control activities ensuring accurate collection, recording, and verification of financial data whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy and quality.
  • Responsible for accommodating standardizing processes, documenting and building resilience within the team.
  • Responsible for journal postings, reconciliations, and intercompany recharge processes, maintaining accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ensure adherence to the London Stock Exchange Group policies and procedures and ensure that accurate financial controls are in place.
  • Support the external audit process for companies within scope including liaising with the external auditors to address their questions and requests (CAS).
  • Assist seamless on boarding of additional scope, aligning the process to according to the TOM.
  • Support Group projects and ensure seamless implementation of any new systems and processes.
  • Collaborate effectively with onshore and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and consistency in financial operations and be a key member of the Finance CoE.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Having professional accounting degree with minimum of 2 years of experience in General Accounting.
  • Background in finance shared services would be an added advantage.
  • Candidates with part qualification/ degree and proven experience also considered.
  • Experience in managing a similar scope will be an added advantage.
  • Experience of using SAP/Oracle/Oracle Fusion and Blackline accounting systems.
  • Experience in ERPs such as SAP, Oracle & Oracle Fusion will provide you an edge.

Strong Track Record in:

  • Financial accounting in a large organisation
  • Strong understanding of accounting concepts
  • Experience of working with senior stakeholders and reporting to tight deadlines
  • Experience of managing cross geography relationships
  • Have strong excel skills and be confident managing sophisticated spreadsheets to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Have a strong track record in standardising processes and documentation.
