As the Area Vice President (AVP) of Commercial Sales for North America at Sitecore, you will lead a high-performing team focused on driving growth and retention within our existing customer base. This role is pivotal in shaping and executing our commercial strategy, with a strong emphasis on upselling, cross-selling, and delivering exceptional customer value. You will be responsible for developing and empowering a team of sales leaders and Account Managers to deepen customer relationships, expand executive engagement, and drive strategic account growth. Success requires multi-threading across organizations, articulating compelling business value, and elevating conversations to align with customer priorities.
Good To Have:
  • Proven success in selling MarTech solutions across marketing, CX, e-commerce, and analytics.
  • Experienced in building executive relationships with CIOs, CMOs, CDOs, and other digital transformation leaders.
Must Have:
  • Collaborate across functions and with business leaders to design and execute a GTM strategy aligned with revenue goals.
  • Lead and develop a Commercial Sales team across North America, focused on upselling, cross-selling, and customer retention.
  • Drive a disciplined, value-based selling approach, leveraging methodologies such as MEDDPICC and Command of the Message.
  • Instill a culture of strategic account planning and territory optimization.
  • Champion multi-threaded engagement strategies to build strong relationships across all levels of customer organizations.
  • Guide your team in telling compelling business value stories that resonate with executive stakeholders.
  • Assist Account Managers by actively participating in customer engagements to provide coaching, guidance, and support.
  • Implement and manage a structured operational framework for the business.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive Sales leadership experience with proven track record of success in SaaS environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth software company and build high performing sales teams.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, executive engagement, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Problem solver who embraces accountability and responsibility, prioritizing a 'team first' approach.

About the Role:

As the Area Vice President (AVP) of Commercial Sales for North America, you will lead a high-performing team focused on driving growth and retention within our existing customer base. This role is pivotal in shaping and executing our commercial strategy, with a strong emphasis on upselling, cross-selling, and delivering exceptional customer value. You will be responsible for developing and empowering a team of sales leaders and Account Managers to deepen customer relationships, expand executive engagement, and drive strategic account growth. Success in this role requires a proven ability to multi-thread across organizations, articulate compelling business value, and elevate conversations to align with customer priorities. The AVP of Sales will report to the President of North America and will oversee a team of Regional Vice Presidents and Commercial Account Managers.

What You’ll Do:

  • Collaborate across functions and with business leaders to design and execute a GTM strategy aligned with revenue goals.
  • Lead and develop a Commercial Sales team across North America, focused on upselling, cross-selling, and customer retention.
  • Drive a disciplined, value-based selling approach, leveraging methodologies such as MEDDPICC and Command of the Message to improve sales execution and consistency.
  • Instill a culture of strategic account planning and territory optimization to ensure focus on high-impact opportunities.
  • Champion multi-threaded engagement strategies to build strong relationships across all levels of customer organizations.
  • Guide your team in telling compelling business value stories that resonate with executive stakeholders and align with customer priorities.
  • Assist Account Managers by actively participating in customer engagements to provide coaching, guidance, and support for their sales endeavors.
  • Implement and manage a structured operational framework for the business, covering opportunity and closure plans, weekly sales meetings, and comprehensive reviews of deals and pipelines.

What You Need to Succeed:

  • A minimum of 8 years of progressive Sales leadership experience with proven track record of success in driving revenue growth and developing customer relationships in SaaS environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth software company with a proven track record for building high performing sales teams.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit/mindset with flexibility towards dynamic change.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent executive engagement, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • An innate problem solver, an individual who embraces accountability and responsibility for their business while prioritizing a 'team first' approach to recognition and reward.
