Job Summary

This role is for an Enterprise Data Architect at Sitecore, responsible for designing and scaling the company's enterprise data architecture framework. The focus is on establishing a robust, adaptable, and future-ready data foundation, managing the definition and implementation of Sitecore’s master data model to power agentic AI, self-service analytics, and data science. The architect will ensure efficient system performance, scalability, security, and data quality, requiring deep expertise in data modeling, metadata, and cloud integration standards.

Must Have

  • Design and maintain overall enterprise data architecture to support Agentic AI, enterprise reporting, and advanced analytics initiatives.
  • Deliver well-structured, scalable, governed, and fit-for-purpose data models and supporting infrastructure.
  • Establish and maintain enterprise data architecture standards, including Master Data Management and metadata frameworks.
  • Create consistent definitions and robust metadata, fostering a shared vocabulary for critical data assets.
  • Develop data dictionaries enriched with business context to improve usability.
  • Establish data lineage for transparency and traceability of data flows.
  • Ensure data quality by implementing processes for reliability, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Define data retention and disposal processes in line with compliance and governance requirements.
  • Plan and onboard new data sources, ensuring integration and alignment with cloud architecture standards.
  • Define architectural standards for data integration and service layers (including APIs).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to link underlying data sources and resolve ambiguity.
  • Enhance data literacy across teams by promoting a shared, consistent understanding of data assets.
  • 8+ years of experience in enterprise data architecture and data management roles.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher (preferably Computer Science, Engineering, or similar fields).
  • Deep expertise in data modelling (conceptual, logical, physical) across relational and dimensional architectures.
  • Fluency designing and governing the full architectural documentation suite.
  • Proven experience in designing and supporting data architectures that enable AI, reporting, and analytics use cases.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric or similar modern data platforms (e.g., Databricks).
  • Expertise in designing, architecting, and integrating enterprise-grade data solutions on cloud-native environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Comprehensive understanding of data management best practices, data quality frameworks, and lifecycle management.
  • Proven expertise with modern data architecture paradigms such as data Lakehouse, data mesh, or event-driven architectures.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to lead data literacy initiatives and data stewardship programs.

About the role:

You will be responsible for designing and scaling Sitecore’s enterprise data architecture framework, with a primary focus on establishing a robust, adaptable, and future-ready data foundation. This role will manage the definition and implementation of Sitecore’s master data model that powers agentic AI, self-service analytics, and data science ensuring efficient system performance, scalability, security, and data quality. This role requires deep expertise in conceptual, logical, and physical data modelling, alongside establishing robust Metadata and Cloud Integration standards (e.g., Fabric) to ensure the technical integrity of our data foundation.

What You’ll Do

  • Data Architecture & AI:
  • Design and maintain the overall enterprise data architecture to support Agentic AI, enterprise reporting, and advanced analytics initiatives.
  • Deliver well-structured, scalable, governed, and fit-for-purpose data models and supporting infrastructure.
  • Modelling & Metadata:
  • Establish and maintain enterprise data architecture standards, including the design of Master Data Management and metadata frameworks.
  • Create consistent definitions and robust metadata, fostering a shared vocabulary for all critical data assets.
  • Develop data dictionaries enriched with business context to improve usability.
  • Data Governance & Quality:
  • Establish data lineage for transparency and traceability of data flows.
  • Ensure data quality by implementing processes for reliability, accuracy, and completeness throughout the data lifecycle.
  • Define data retention and disposal processes in line with compliance and governance requirements.
  • Integration & Sourcing:
  • Plan and onboard new data sources, ensuring integration and alignment with cloud architecture standards (e.g., into Fabric or similar platforms).
  • Define the architectural standards for data integration and service layers (including APIs) to ensure scalable, secure, and reliable data flow between enterprise systems.
  • Collaboration & Enablement:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to link underlying data sources, resolve ambiguity in interpretation, and provide key input into data solutions.
  • Enhance data literacy across teams by promoting a shared, consistent understanding of data assets and clearly defining the roles and responsibilities of Data Stewards.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Experience:
  • 8+ years of experience in enterprise data architecture and data management roles within complex, multi-stakeholder organisations with diverse data landscapes, with proven expertise in data modelling, governance, and modern data platforms.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher (preferably Computer Science, Engineering, or similar fields)
  • Data Modelling:
  • Deep expertise in data modelling (conceptual, logical, physical) across relational and dimensional architectures (e.g., star schemas), leveraging advanced knowledge of metadata management and data lineage tooling.
  • Fluency designing and governing the full architectural documentation suite, ensuring clear communication of data flows and systems at all levels, from strategy to detailed implementation.
  • AI and Analytics Enablement: Proven experience in designing and supporting data architectures that enable AI, reporting, and analytics use cases, translating business requirements into technical data solutions.
  • Platform & Cloud:
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric or similar modern data platforms (e.g., Databricks).
  • Expertise in designing, architecting, and integrating enterprise-grade data solutions on cloud-native environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Data Management & Quality: Comprehensive understanding of data management best practices, data quality frameworks, and lifecycle management.
  • Modern Data Paradigms: Proven expertise with modern data architecture paradigms such as data Lakehouse, data mesh, or event-driven architectures.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, enabling the accurate translation of complex business requirements into conceptual and detailed technology solutions.
