Assistant Manager - Deer Park Hotel

We are seeking an Assistant Manager for the Deer Park Hotel, a local favorite known for pub classics, a vibrant Sports Bar, and a welcoming beer garden. This role involves supporting the Publican, ensuring smooth operations, and creating amazing experiences for locals. The ideal candidate will perform 4 closing shifts and 1 mid-shift weekly, handle issues proactively, and bring energy and excellent service to every shift.

Must Have

• Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe
• Perform 4 x closing shifts and 1 x mid shift each week
• Handle hiccups before they turn into headaches
• Bring the energy, the service, and the smiles every single shift
• Ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently, including manual handling and lifting
• Current RSA, RSG & Victorian Gaming Licence as per state requirements

Good to Have

• Experience in bar, bistro, or gaming room operations
• Previous supervisory experience

A day in the life of a Closing Night Assistant Manager:

• Get to know the locals so well they think you’re part of the crew
• Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe
• Love the hours of darkness, performing 4 x closing shifts and 1 x mid shift each week
• Handle hiccups before they turn into headaches
• Bring the energy, the service, and the smiles every single shift

Inherent requirements:

• This is a hands-on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.

About you:

• You’ve been around the bar, bistro, or gaming room block, and maybe already done some supervising
• You’ve learned from great managers and now you’re ready to step up
• You’ve got the confidence, pride, and people skills to be the face of the pub when the boss is away
• You’ve got a current RSA, RSG & Victorian Gaming Licence as per state requirements
