Guy Carpenter is seeking an Assistant Vice President for their Treaty Broking team in Beijing, China. This hybrid role involves supporting client relationships, executing broking practices, building reinsurer relations, and conducting market research. The ideal candidate will have a university degree in Finance or related fields, experience in the insurance/reinsurance industry, and strong teamwork and communication skills. Proficiency in English and Mandarin is highly valued.

  • Conduct market research and information collecting.
  • Compile presentations and advisory documents under direction of a supervisor.
  • Play an active role in GC client and market events to promote GC brand and enhance relationship with clients and markets as required.
  • University graduate with Finance, Statistics, Economics, Risk Management, Math etc.
  • Experience in insurance / reinsurance industry.
  • Experience in property and casualty insurance.
  • Strong ability to work with colleagues effectively at all levels; must be a good team player.
  • Well-versed in office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Treaty Broking team at Guy Carpenter China. This role will be based in Beijing Office. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

We will count on you to:

  • Support in maintaining and developing client relationship for existing clients and new clients
  • Support the best broking practice, which include client proposal, presentation, market submission & execution
  • Build and maintain good relations with reinsurers
  • Regular communication with client at counterpart level to collect client feedback, identify client need and gather market intelligence
  • Conduct market research and information collecting

  • Any projects under the direction of management
