Job Summary

This Associate role within the Web Tech Engineering Team at BlackRock involves providing a robust software technology platform for the company's public-facing websites. Responsibilities include designing, coding, testing, and supporting reliable software applications and services. The associate will participate in feature requirements gathering, design, and implementation, collaborate with product management on development sprints, perform code reviews, and mentor junior developers. The role requires experience in Python, Spark, cloud data platforms, and data analytics tools.

Must Have

  • Design, code, test, and support reliable, robust software applications and services.
  • Participate in multi-functional feature requirements gathering, design, and implementation.
  • Collaborate with product management on development sprints.
  • Perform code reviews and provide timely feedback to other engineers.
  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in MIS, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, with 12 months experience.
  • Alternatively, Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in MIS, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, with 36 months experience.
  • One year of experience in Python Development, Pyspark, and Spark SQL.
  • One year of experience developing Complex Dashboards using Power BI and Tableau.
  • One year of experience with Enterprise software systems, including building cloud data lake platforms.
  • One year of experience with Cloud service providers including Azure (Data Factory, Synapse analytics, Databricks and Data Lake Storage) and Snowflake.
  • One year of experience in Data Analytics using Databricks and Delta Lake.
  • One year of experience in Data Extraction, Transformation and Processing.

About this role

Job Duties: Works within the Web Tech Engineering Team. Responsible for providing a solid software technology platform serving 134 public-facing websites of the company under the blackrock.com and ishares.com domains. Design, code, test, and support reliable, robust software applications and services with high quality standards. Participate in multi-functional feature requirements gathering, design, and implementation. Collaborate with product management on right units of work to include in each development sprint. Perform code reviews and provide timely feedback to other engineers. Serve as a role model and mentor to junior developers.

Qualifications: Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Management Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, and 12 months of experience in job offered or closely related role. Alternative requirements: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Management Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, and 36 months of experience in the job offered or closely related role.
