Job Description:

The Associate Director of Performance Media is in charge of supporting Condé Nast’s social and branded content business across 12 advertising categories (Fashion, Beauty, Vice, CPG, BizFi Tech, Home, etc.). The Associate Director leads the team who builds, optimizes, and manages pacing for campaigns to maximize advertising revenue and surface strategic learnings. We are looking for a dynamic, strategic, and people-first leader to manage a midsize team (3 direct reports, 9 team members total) of Managers and Campaign Specialists. This role requires an inspiring team lead who thrives under pressure, communicates effectively with senior leadership, and can drive operational excellence across high-volume, high-stakes digital campaigns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Managers and Campaign Specialists responsible for the execution and management of paid social and branded content campaigns across Meta, TikTok, Google Ads, Snapchat, Pinterest, LinkedIn, and more.

  • Ensure campaigns are executed flawlessly and meet or exceed performance KPIs, delivering on revenue goals without reliance on makegoods.

  • Oversee pacing and delivery across all categories, proactively troubleshooting issues and identifying optimization opportunities.

  • Partner with pricing and planning teams to build performance frameworks grounded in real campaign data and category-specific insights.

  • Deliver quarterly business reviews (QBRs) to internal stakeholders, surfacing key wins, strategic insights, and growth opportunities.

  • Act as a strong cross-functional collaborator, building trusted partnerships with internal teams including Sales, Planning, Analytics, and Product.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven success managing and scaling teams, ideally with 5+ years of direct leadership experience.

  • Exceptional ability to inspire, coach, and empower teams while holding high standards of performance and accountability.

  • Excellent upward communication skills; able to clearly and confidently interface with executives and senior stakeholders.

  • Calm, confident, and solutions-oriented under pressure—especially in fast-paced or high-stakes situations.

  • Deep understanding of paid social media and branded content platforms, including hands-on or strategic experience with Meta, TikTok, Google Ads, and Pinterest.

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a knack for creative problem-solving.

  • Thorough understanding of performance marketing KPIs, media buying strategies (including auction and biddable platforms), ad technology, and branded content.

  • Demonstrated success at working with cross-functional teams and building strong relationships internally and externally.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expert knowledge of social media, e-commerce, and digital/mobile marketing.

  • Knowledge of self-serve platforms, auction, and biddable forms of digital advertising buying and optimization techniques.

  • Background working within a matrixed or global organization is a plus.

The expected base salary range for this position is from $135,000-$190,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to relevant skills, training, experience, and education.

In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates may also be eligible to receive discretionary bonus compensation.
