Job Summary
We’re excited to be back in our Montreal studio Tuesday thru Thursday… come join us! Manage the day-to-day operation of the production, including crew scheduling, ensuring that production goals are met within budget and schedule parameters.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Producer in the development of the production budget and strategy.
- Maintain the overall production schedule and manage departmental quotas.
- Make recommendations for improvements to production systems, particularly with respect to scheduling, flow of information, milestone realization, and resource management.
- Provide the Producer with a weekly production update report, ensuring that quotas, remaining work, and resources are balanced within budget.
- Provide a forum, guidance, and direction for crew members to communicate production/work-related issues, promoting an open-door policy among staff, departments, and Production Management personnel.
- Work closely with the Producer, Supervisors, Production Managers, and HR to maintain project crew lists and efficiently allocate resources according to creative and financial requirements.
- Oversee time log managements.
- Daily interaction with the client on production-related needs and deliveries.
- Identify and monitor cost variances from the approved production budget; recommend corrective action as necessary, and review cost reports weekly with the Producer and accounting.
- Working closely with Production Management and Supervision, identify potential impacts on the overall show budget and schedule.
- Identify and find solutions with Production Managers and Supervisors for early potential risks that could incur additional costs.
- Work with the Producer to run any necessary schedule scenarios based on production delays.
- Collaborate closely with the client’s creative team (Director, Production Designer, etc.), as well as the VFX and CG Supervisors, to ensure the visual direction and execution remain aligned with the project’s scope. This includes leading meetings in tandem with the Producer to ensure a clear plan is established.
- Support Production Managers in the mentorship of Coordinators, Production Assistants, and Associate Production Managers.
- Carry out additional tasks as directed by the Producer to help resolve day-to-day production issues and/or bottlenecks.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s (BA) degree from an accredited four-year college or university or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 7 years of production management experience.
- Experience in traditional 2D and/or 3D animation production.
- Experience as an accomplished Production Manager.
- A thorough knowledge of production and animation processes.
- Proficient in MS Office suites, including Excel and Word.
- Knowledge of budgeting and scheduling software.
- Experience creating, maintaining, and editing film/television/animation budgets.
