Description

Elevation is re-establishing the boundaries of VR. We’re looking for a talented Audio Designer to help us explore, create, and deliver world leading innovation in software and VR hardware. Join us in pathfinding a remote first studio, crafting a new generation of VR development and bringing core VR games to fruition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creating high quality audio assets and systems.
  • Implementing audio via middleware like Audiokinetic Wwise and/or Unreal Engine 4/5.
  • Collaborating with other disciplines to ensure audio is incorporated into all aspects of gameplay and enhances game experience.
  • Work closely with members of the audio team.
  • Working with the project’s audio point person, and project producers to spec out deliverables, locate dependencies, maintain documentation, and keep tasks within scope.
  • Where required and supported by the audio lead, taking responsibility for a large part of how that game should sound.
  • Documenting asset lists and audio features.
  • Being a positive advocate and representative for the audio team within the studio and externally.

Requirements

Required Experience

  • Degree/Qualification in Audio or related field.
  • 2+ years in a Sound Design role, ideally in games – VR or other interactive mediums a bonus.
  • Able to work to differing feature sets and requirements between different consoles and formats.
  • Understanding of technical audio, such as designing, implementing and optimising audio systems and structures within middleware and game engines.
  • Experience with linear audio, such as cinematics, film or promotional work like trailers.
  • Experience with other engines and audio middleware, such as Unity and FMOD.
  • Experience in working with other audio designers and related disciplines.
