Job Description

This role as an Automation Methods Engineer involves leading multiple automation projects for production processes at the La Brelandière site. You will contribute to increasing site production rates and a competitiveness initiative for inertia production, with projects spanning 3 to 4 years. Key responsibilities include coordinating the introduction of new industrial equipment, defining and supporting programming and automation techniques, identifying process improvements, and ensuring that industrial tools are upgraded to meet productivity targets while managing project milestones and budgets. You will work closely with the FLX Industry Methods Pole and industrial methods service.

Attached to the Industrial Process Engineering department, the methods service, composed of an industrial methods service of 8 employees and a team of 3 employees in charge of modernizing industrial tools, carries out the following activities:

  • Support APRUs (Autonomous Production and Repair Unit) in manufacturing phases to guarantee a compliant production process while integrating all industrial constraints.
  • Ensure industrialization activities in the development phase to guarantee a result following Design For Production principles.
  • Lead industrial tool modernization and automation projects to achieve productivity objectives established for the next 3 to 4 years, meeting industrial milestones and ensuring the technical consistency of the programming of new implemented solutions.
  • Provide support for evolutions and contribute to the maintenance of robot and automation-based equipment.
  • Lead equipment replacement projects to address the obsolescence of the current fleet.

As an Automation Methods Engineer, you will be responsible for leading several automation projects for production steps on the products of the La Brelandière site. For this, you will be assisted by the FLX Industry Methods Pole, responsible for defining the standards, tools, and methodologies to be deployed, as well as the industrial methods service for implementing these modernizations.

As part of the increase in site rates and also as part of a competitiveness project for inertia production activity, your projects will span 3 to 4 years.

Your missions:

  • Successfully introduce new industrial means by coordinating the various trades involved (APRU, methods, maintenance, real estate, safety, etc.) and by applying the industrial milestones framework and current HSE regulations.
  • Define, configure, and support the programming and automation techniques implemented on the solutions.
  • Identify areas for improvement to enhance the standards and generic requirements defined by the FLX Industry Methods Pole.
  • Guarantee the upgrade of industrial tools in accordance with the productivity expectations defined upstream of the project, while controlling the milestones and budget of each industrial lot.

Your profile

With a Bac+5 degree or equivalent and several successful industrial experiences, you have the following skills:

  • Confirmed industrial experience (minimum 10 years) in the field of automation, optimization, and modernization of production lines?
  • Knowledge and mastery of SIEMENS programming tools and robots, understanding of machine directives, and ability to read electrical diagrams?
  • Technical mastery of automation solutions (drafting specifications, integrator management, mastery of sequencer languages,...)?
  • Pedagogy to support the implementation of standards and changes?
  • Ability to step back on the deployment strategy of automation solutions to ensure their consistency?

Observation and listening skills for operators and technicians, strong autonomy, dynamism, leadership, argumentation and conviction, organization, rigor, planning, prioritization, anticipation, proposal and innovation, reporting skills, synthesis and alert are all assets that you are recognized for?
