Automation Software Quality Assurance (SQA)

Synechron is seeking a highly capable Lead in Automation SQA to oversee the development and execution of automated testing strategies for complex software projects. In this leadership role, you will mentor teams, evaluate emerging technologies, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable software solutions. Your expertise in automation frameworks, testing methodologies, and cross-functional collaboration will support the organization’s goal of streamlining quality processes and improving software excellence across various initiatives.

Must Have

• Strong proficiency with automation testing tools like Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, Maven
• Extensive experience developing and maintaining automated test scripts
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI
• Familiarity with test management tools and defect tracking systems like JIRA or Zephyr
• Programming in Java, Python, or other scripting languages for automation
• Understanding of software development and testing lifecycle best practices
• Lead the design, development, and execution of automated test plans
• Mentor and guide team members on automation best practices

• Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI for integrating automated tests into deployment pipelines
• Familiarity with test management tools and defect tracking systems such as JIRA or Zephyr
• Programming in Java, Python, or other scripting languages used for automation scripting (Python preferred)
• Understanding of software development lifecycle and testing lifecycle best practices

Preferred Skills:

• Lead the design, development, and execution of automated test plans for complex software applications

• Design and develop automation frameworks and test scripts aligned with project requirements
• Lead automation testing efforts across multiple projects, monitoring execution results
• Collaborate with developers and product owners to integrate testing in CI/CD pipelines
• Conduct code reviews of automation scripts, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices
• Troubleshoot automation failures, perform root cause analysis, and optimize scripts for stability
• Coach team members on automation strategies, scripting, and testing methodologies
• Assist in manual testing efforts and exploratory testing to cover gaps in automation
• Keep documentation current, including test plans, scripts, and defect reports
• Research and recommend new tools, frameworks, or practices to improve testing efficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• Relevant certifications such as ISTQB Automation, Selenium Certification, or equivalent are preferred
• Proven success in leading automation testing efforts for enterprise applications in a fast-paced environment
