Synechron is looking for an experienced Level 2 Support Engineer specializing in risk management systems within capital markets. This role involves monitoring, troubleshooting, and supporting core risk calculation systems to ensure continuous, accurate, and compliant operations. The engineer will collaborate with risk, technical, and business teams to resolve escalated issues, optimize system performance, and implement system upgrades, contributing to the organization’s risk management and regulatory compliance objectives.
Must Have
- Proven experience supporting risk management or financial systems in capital markets
- Strong SQL skills, including complex queries, data validation, and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with batch processing tools and scheduling systems (e.g., Control-M, Autosys)
- Experience supporting market risk, credit risk, and counterparty risk calculations
- Knowledge of risk concepts such such as market risk, credit risk, and exposure calculations
- Proficiency in monitoring and resolving production issues in a client-server environment
- Monitor and analyze risk management systems, batch processes, and data flow
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve escalated incidents related to market, credit, and counterparty exposures
- Investigate data discrepancies using SQL queries to ensure correct exposures are reported
- Support deployment of system upgrades, patches, and configurations
- Maintain detailed incident reports, resolution documentation, and system configuration records
- Collaborate with risk teams, developers, and infrastructure groups to improve system robustness
- Assist in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence of issues
- Minimum of 5 years supporting risk or financial systems in a capital markets environment
- Proven experience troubleshooting and resolving production incidents escalated from L1 support
- Prior experience supporting system upgrades, patches, and configurations in complex enterprise settings
- Demonstrated ability managing incident logs, root cause analyses, and implementing corrective actions
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or related discipline
- Strong analytical and diagnostic skills for technical issues and data discrepancies
- Effective communication skills for interacting with technical teams and risk stakeholders
