Job Summary
ByteDance is seeking a Backend Software Engineer for its CapCut team in San Jose. Responsibilities include developing secure and scalable services for CapCut's security and privacy systems, optimizing backend systems for efficiency and scalability, and ensuring engineering excellence. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in backend service development (Golang/Java/Rust/C++), a deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, networking, and security, and proficiency with databases and messaging frameworks (MySQL/Redis/Kafka). Experience with privacy and security technologies is a plus. CapCut is a leading video editing app with over 500 million monthly active users.

Job Description
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $145000 - $250000 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
