Job Description

This role involves elaborating complex technical proposals and bids, often multi-domain and in partnership with major industry players, within the Integrated Airspace Protection Systems (IAS) domain. The Bid Manager will lead the bid strategy, manage internal resources, control planning, challenge solutions, perform costing, and support financial offer establishment. Responsibilities also include pre-sales support, client needs analysis, and ensuring compliance with bid management processes.
Must Have:
  • Produce competitive, innovative, and winning responses to calls for tenders
  • Lead the response strategy with sales teams, manage internal bid resources, control planning, challenge solutions, perform costing, and participate in establishing the financial offer
  • Prepare and present defense dossiers internally and to clients
  • Develop and promote offers, provide pre-sales support to clients, and assist the Commercial Directorate
  • Analyze client needs upstream to ensure proper opportunity qualification and provide decision-making elements during bid/no-bid reviews
  • Manage stakeholders involved in the response: financial, technical, legal, purchasing, partners, subcontractors
  • Apply and respect all bid management processes and best practices
  • Contribute to proposal writing (partially or fully depending on file size and type)
  • Present and validate the technical and financial proposal internally during ad hoc reviews
  • Support the offer with clients until contract signing
  • Support the file during the start-up phase (transfer of client context knowledge, control of Thales' commitments during start-up)
  • Contribute to the team's collective effort by capitalizing on commercial proposals
  • Significant experience in bid management in the military domain
  • Technical skills in systems engineering, technical-operational simulations, radar, optronics, weapon systems, artillery
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Commitment, curiosity, and proactivity
  • Fluent in English

Your daily life

Reporting to the Offer Director of the IAS (Integrated Airspace Protection Systems) Domain, you are responsible for developing complex technical proposals and bids (multi-domain Thales) from the acquisition phase in the field of air operations. You will also be required to develop offers in partnership with one or more major industrial players in the sector.

In this capacity, your mission is to:

  • Produce competitive, innovative, and winning responses to calls for tenders;
  • Lead the response strategy with sales teams, manage internal bid resources, control planning, challenge solutions, perform costing, and participate in establishing the financial offer;
  • Prepare and present defense dossiers internally and to clients;
  • Develop and promote our offers, provide pre-sales support to our clients, and assist the Commercial Directorate;
  • Analyze our clients' needs upstream, to ensure proper opportunity qualification and to provide decision-making elements during bid/no-bid reviews;
  • Manage stakeholders involved in the response: financial, technical, legal, purchasing, partners, subcontractors;

Your profile

With significant experience in bid management in the military domain, you have already worked on complex technical solutions for air operations.

You are recognized for your technical skills in the following areas: systems engineering, technical-operational simulations, radar, optronics, weapon systems, artillery.

As a true leader, you demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills that will allow you to build a relationship of trust with your clients.

You have strong negotiation skills and are recognized for your commitment, curiosity, and proactivity.

You know how to negotiate and speak fluent English.
