Job Description

This position involves body design for upper body areas, including specification development in collaboration with designers and hands-on design work. Responsibilities include designing body frame components, defining requirements, developing specifications (shape, performance, cost), and performing basic CAE analysis. It also covers advanced development for future EV models, incorporating new body structures, mechatronic mechanisms, and new materials like aluminum and carbon, often in collaboration with suppliers. The role offers opportunities to gain broad knowledge in vehicle development, lead design integration, and contribute to new technologies.
Must have:
  • Major in Mechanical Engineering (Material Mechanics, Structural Mechanics)
  • Knowledge of metal or resin materials
  • Experience in design and development of industrial products, parts, equipment, or production technology (process design, equipment design/press dies, resin molding)
  • TOEIC: 600 points

  • Work experience using mechanical engineering (material mechanics, structural mechanics)
  • Knowledge or work experience related to press molding technology
  • Knowledge or work experience related to resin material molding technology

Job Details

Main Tasks

Depending on your experience and aptitude, you will be responsible for one of the following. This work allows you to experience the excitement of vehicle body development, from collaborating with designers to formulating specifications and performing hands-on design.

  • Body Parts Design (Upper Body Area)

You will be responsible for designing body frame components, taking charge of specific vehicle models and parts. You will handle everything from requirement definition and specification formulation (shape, performance, cost) to parts design and simple CAE analysis. Additionally, depending on the theme, you will be involved in parts development with suppliers for glass, sunroofs, fiber materials, resins, etc.

  • Upper Body Related Advanced Development

For future next-generation EV models, you will be responsible for attractive advanced technology development, including the incorporation of new body structures and mechatronic mechanisms, and the application of new materials such as aluminum and carbon. This involves collaboration not only with internal departments but also with suppliers. Developers will also be consistently involved when advanced development themes are reflected in vehicle application development.

In upper body design, we are responsible for developing safe and highly rigid vehicle bodies, and in collaboration with the design department, we manage the exterior of vehicles that many customers see. By collaborating with various departments such as collision safety performance, handling stability and NVH performance, aerodynamic performance, interior/exterior design, seat belt design, and electrical design, you can acquire a wide range of knowledge in vehicle development.

As the department responsible for integrating design within development, we lead development by understanding designers' requests from the initial stages and striving to provide attractive designs to customers.

We are also focusing on advanced development, working on developing new technologies such as new materials like aluminum and carbon, and mechanical components like sunroofs, to bring them to the world.
