Job Summary
The Building Security Officer at Sphere Entertainment Co. ensures a safe and secure environment by staffing 24/7 security posts, controlling access, screening visitors and equipment, and observing/reporting security threats. Responsibilities include assisting with guest ingress/egress, screening bulk items, escorting personnel, and executing arena security response and evacuation plans.
Must Have
- Provide security guard force coverage of Sphere by staffing 24/7 fixed, roving, indoor, or outdoor security posts in all weather conditions.
- Control access to the building and surrounding property.
- Screen visitors, vehicles, and equipment entering the arena.
- Secure TV trucks, equipment, and personnel entering and exiting the arena’s loading docks in support of Sphere events.
- Observe and report on security threats along the building’s perimeter such as: crime, scalper activity, loitering, and surveillance activity.
- Assist with guest ingress and egress.
- Screen bulk items entering the loading dock like mail, equipment, and deliveries.
- Escort patrons, clients, employees, artists, performers into and out of The Sphere.
- Learn and execute arena security response, access control, and evacuation plans.
- Be 18 years of age or older.
- Possess security experience with an understanding of security procedures and guest relations.
- Be familiar with hand-held radios, Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) Systems and other security devices.
- Have the ability and interpersonal skills to effectively assist guests, clients and employees.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Have basic familiarity with email, Microsoft Office tools, and computer software programs used for staffing, access control, and deliveries.
- Successfully complete physical fitness examination.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, split days off, weekends and holidays in a 24 X 7 environment.
- Possess Nevada Alcohol Awareness (TAM) Card.
- Possess Sheriff’s Card.

What do you need to succeed?
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Security experience with an understanding of security procedures and guest relations

Special Requirements
- Responsibilities also include but are not limited to radio usage, operation of specialized equipment (bollards, etc), placement and relocation of barriers, wayfinding, crowd management, conflict resolution, access control, personnel contraband/weapons screening and VIP escort/support.
- May be exposed to theatrical smoke, strobe lights, pyrotechnics, intense sound, rapid motion video effects, smoke, and odors
- May be deployed to outdoor posts that may be exposed to triple-digit temperatures, UV rays, high winds, or monsoon weather. Appropriate hydration, PPE, and sun protection will be provided.
- May have outdoor and UV exposure
- Must be able to successfully complete physical fitness examination.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, have split days off, work weekends and holidays in a 24 X 7 environment
- General physical requirements such as lifting up to 25 lbs., standing for long periods, walking long distances, bending and constant motion is often required.
