Job Description

Tavus is seeking a Business Development Representative to drive top-of-funnel growth. This role involves leading outbound outreach across various channels and representing the company at industry events. Responsibilities include identifying and targeting high-potential accounts, collaborating with Account Executives, and providing feedback to improve messaging, processes, and product direction. The ideal candidate will own the pipeline through email, phone, and LinkedIn outreach, attend industry events, research and prioritize accounts, and maintain CRM records. This is a hybrid role based in San Francisco.

The Role

The Business Development Representative at Tavus plays a key role in driving top-of-funnel growth by leading outbound outreach across multiple channels and representing the company at industry events. This role involves identifying and targeting high-potential accounts, collaborating closely with AEs, and sharing field insights to improve messaging, processes, and product direction.

We're seeking someone who desires hybrid work (three or more days in the office and the other two days are flexible). Our HQ office is in San Francisco!

Your Mission 🚀

  • Own the top-of-funnel pipeline by driving outbound efforts across email, phone, LinkedIn, and other creative channels

  • Represent Tavus at industry events, conferences, and meetups to generate leads and spark strategic conversations

  • Identify, research, and prioritize high-potential accounts aligned to our ideal customer profile
    Partner with AEs to run strategic outbound plays and help qualify new opportunities

  • Refine messaging based on what you’re hearing in the field and contribute ideas to improve outreach performance

  • Maintain accurate records in the CRM and contribute to ongoing improvements in reporting and process

  • Share field intelligence with marketing and product to help shape positioning and roadmap

Requirements

  • 1–2 years in a BDR, SDR, or event-driven sales role (startup or SaaS experience preferred)

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills — you can hold your own in a conversation with technical and non-technical buyers alike

  • Experience attending, organizing, or working conferences, events, or trade shows

  • Passion for AI, startups, and emerging technology

  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and excited to build processes from the ground up

  • Comfortable with outbound tools like HubSpot, Apollo, or Clay (or eager to learn quickly!)

  • Willingness to travel for events and be based in San Francisco (this is an in-person role)

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Experience prospecting technical buyers (Dev Tools, APIs, ML/AI products)

  • A creative approach to outbound — memes, video, or anything else that stands out

  • A background in organizing or working field events or community meetups
