Description:

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Specialty Team at Marsh in Singapore. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office. Reporting to the Marine Leader, Singapore, the Chief Client Officer (CCO) for Marine in Singapore will play a pivotal role in supporting the Singapore Marine Leader in servicing and expanding marine opportunities within the Singapore maritime sector. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Singapore Marine Leader and the Regional Marine team to manage major client relationships, coordinate market placement strategies, develop strategic growth plans, and drive sales and placement initiatives.  This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead and influence the marine sector in Singapore, driving growth and delivering exceptional service to our clients.

We will count on you to:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Oversee the comprehensive strategy for major clients in Singapore, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with the Marine Leader and Specialty Leader to deliver our financial objectives, formulate and implement strategic growth plans, while actively supporting and driving sales and placement initiatives within the region.
  • Engage with sales and industry leaders to effectively position the Marine product line in strategic discussions and client plans.
  • Ensure that Marine clients have access to the Global Marine network and the broader Marsh McLennan (MMC) network.

New Business, Placement and Market Engagement:

  • Assist the Singapore Marine Leader in developing and executing the new business strategy.
  • Assist in overseeing the team’s placement activities, providing support for strategic and market discussions as needed.
  • Lead significant client inquiries to ensure optimal solutions are delivered.
  • Collaborate with clients and relevant stakeholders to develop tailored broking plans that address client needs, securing necessary approvals.
  • Negotiate and assess quotes from carriers, presenting well-informed recommendations to clients.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Conduct visits to existing clients and prospective clients as appropriate to strengthen relationships.
  • Provide daily service to clients within the specific product line, ensuring their risk management needs are effectively met.
  • Implement and manage a high-quality post-sales service plan where applicable.
  • Adhere to Marsh Professional Standards and Marsh Excellence protocols.
  • Develop and present renewal proposals to existing clients and participate in presentations for prospective clients.
  • Stay informed of changing market conditions, proactively communicating significant developments to client executives, brokers, and clients regarding various coverage types.
  • Identify opportunities for new products and propose innovative solutions to clients.

What you need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any discipline.
  • A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in marine broking or underwriting.
  • Technical expertise in either Protection & Indemnity (P&I) or Hull & Machinery (H&M), with a strong working knowledge of both preferred.
  • Proven skills in insurance brokerage, account management, client servicing, and sales.
  • Ambitious, solution-oriented, and possessing strong client relationship management skills.
