Cloud Support Engineer

The eBay Cloud team powers foundational infrastructure for thousands of eBay applications, managing one of the industry's largest private cloud platforms based on open-source technology, including Kubernetes clusters. The mission is to provide end-to-end governance and support for the full lifecycle of eBay applications, enhancing cloud-native capabilities for reliability, efficiency, scalability, and security. This role seeks an experienced Cloud Support Engineer to help developers adopt cloud-native applications, requiring a deep understanding of core cloud technology. The engineer will drive cloud-native principles, improve developer productivity through CI/CD automation, and ensure security compliance, with at least 5 years of experience in a similar large-scale cloud support environment.

Must Have

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in large-scale distributed systems, with a deep understanding of cloud platforms, schedulers, operating systems, and Kubernetes.
• Proficient in programming with Go, Python, or other relevant languages, with demonstrated experience in building automation tools and solutions using GenAI.
• Expert in troubleshooting and quickly debugging complex issues in distributed systems.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects independently in a high-pressure environment, consistently driving for results.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a focus on fostering a culture of DevOps and continuous automation.

Our mission is to provide end-to-end governance and support for the full lifecycle of eBay applications running on our platform. We focus on enhancing the platform's cloud-native capabilities to ensure these applications are reliable, efficient, scalable and secure.

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Support Engineer to join us. You'll be a key contributor, helping eBay developers adopt cloud-native applications on our platform. This requires a deep understanding of our core cloud technology and custom functionalities.

You will drive the adoption of cloud-native principles, focusing on improving developer productivity through CI/CD automation and ensuring security compliance. We're looking for a candidate with at least 5 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong focus on cloud support within a large-scale environment.
