Job Description

Seeking Alpha is looking for a Content Moderator to join their Community Content team. This role involves maintaining the quality of discussions on Seeking Alpha by ensuring all comments adhere to community guidelines and promptly removing problematic content. The moderator will screen new user comments, monitor flagged content, conduct daily audits of comment sections, and manage user suspensions. The position requires understanding Seeking Alpha’s mission to facilitate intelligent debate around investment-related topics.
Good To Have:
  • 2+ years of prior experience in content moderation or a related field
Must Have:
  • Address reports of abusive comments and remove content that violates community guidelines
  • Screen comments from new users to maintain high-quality discussions
  • Monitor comments flagged by the internal system for compliance
  • Conduct daily audits of specific comment sections
  • Perform daily audits of political comment sections
  • Suspend users who habitually violate terms of use and escalate serious abuse to the moderation team leader
  • Ensure timely discussion by clearing comment queues in the content management system quickly
  • Handover a clean board at the end of each shift
  • Flag and report problematic user accounts to the manager
  • Identify positive, contributing users
  • Remove spam accounts to maintain a genuine and productive community
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English, with a strong understanding of slang, tone, and context
  • Attention to detail with the ability to make timely and accurate decisions
  • Strong understanding of financial, investment, and business terminology and the ability to apply this knowledge in moderation tasks
  • Strong understanding of content guidelines and the ability to enforce them consistently
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to ensure smooth moderation processes

What We're Looking For

We are looking for a Content Moderator to join our Community Content team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the quality of discussions on Seeking Alpha. You will work closely with the team to ensure that all comments on the website adhere to our community guidelines and promptly remove any problematic content when necessary. Community Content Specialists must understand Seeking Alpha’s mission and actively promote the company’s core values by facilitating intelligent debate centered around investment-related topics.

What You'll Do

  • Address reports of abusive comments and remove content that violates our community guidelines.
  • Screen comments from new users to maintain high-quality discussions.
  • Monitor comments flagged by our internal system for compliance.
  • Conduct daily audits of specific comment sections.
  • Perform daily audits of political comment sections.

Terms: Night Shift (10 pm to 7 am). Semi-weekend coverage (Sunday & Monday off)
