Job Summary
Kforce is seeking a Controller/Finance Director in NYC to oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, AP, AR, payroll, and month-end close. The role involves preparing financial statements, budgets, and forecasts, ensuring compliance with GAAP and SOX, and managing internal controls and audits. This director will also lead financial planning, risk management, and partner with cross-functional teams to align financial strategies with organizational goals, and optimize ERP systems.
Must Have
- Oversee accounting operations (GL, AP, AR, payroll, month-end)
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, forecasts
- Ensure GAAP, SOX, and regulatory compliance
- Manage internal controls, audits, process improvements
- Lead financial planning, risk management, capital analysis
- Partner with HR and Operations for financial strategies
- Implement and optimize ERP systems and reporting tools
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 7-10+ years in accounting/finance leadership
- Strong GAAP, financial reporting, compliance knowledge
- Proficient in ERP systems (NetSuite, MS Dynamics)
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience with Power BI and SQL

- Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and month-end close
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts for senior leadership and board presentations
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX, and regulatory requirements
- Manage internal controls, annual audits, and process improvement initiatives
- Lead financial planning, risk management, and capital resource analysis
- Partner with cross-functional teams (HR, Operations) to align financial strategies with organizational goals
- Implement and optimize ERP systems and reporting tools for efficiency and accuracy
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred
- 7-10+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, including leadership roles
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and compliance standards
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced Excel skills; Experience with Power BI, SQL; Tableau is a plus
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills
