  • Review, draft, and negotiate contracts with vendors and third parties.
  • Appropriately escalate potential issues and disputes.
  • Proactively engage with technical teams and develop trusted advisor relationships.
  • Collaborate with legal department staff to develop and deliver trainings.
  • Partner with legal subject experts in IP, privacy, trust, compliance, and procurement.
  • Collaborate with extended legal team in India and provide guidance to headquarters.
  • Stay updated on company policies, laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Identify potential legal risks and propose mitigation strategies.

Job Details

Position Overview

We are seeking a mid-level attorney experienced in product counseling and commercial contracts to provide comprehensive legal support for Autodesk’s dynamic Growth Experience Technology (GET) organization. This is an incredibly exciting opportunity to support GET’s work with Autodesk’s go-to-market partners to design, develop, and support intelligent, data-driven, digital-first solutions that serve our customers throughout their journey. You will play a key role in enabling GET to deliver innovative technology solutions by advising on a broad range of issues including product counseling matters, AI/ML, data related issues, and technology and commercial contracts. The role is hybrid based out of our Bangalore office. You will report to our Senior Corporate Counsel, GET & ESE.

Responsibilities:

  • Product counseling: Serve as a legal business partner supporting engineering, design and other technical teams developing innovative technology solutions for Autodesk’s go-to-market organizations. Provide practical legal advice that balances risk and enables achievement of business objectives in alignment with legal requirements and industry best practices
  • Contract review and negotiation: Review, draft, and negotiate contracts with technology vendors, consultants, service providers, and other third parties including in-bound technology and SaaS contracts, AI-related, and consulting agreements. Appropriately escalate potential issues and disputes
  • Collaboration: Proactively engage with technical teams and develop trusted advisor relationships with GET team members. Collaborate with legal department staff supporting GET to develop and deliver trainings for technical teams and business counterparts. Partner with other legal department staff in a highly matrixed environment, involving subject experts in IP, privacy, trust, compliance, and procurement to promote consistency and best practices. Collaborate with extended legal team in India and provide visibility and guidance to corporate headquarters about site and country specific issues as required
  • Compliance and risk management: Stay updated on company policies and procedures, relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. Identify potential legal risks and propose risk mitigation strategies to enable GET to deliver innovative technology solutions

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience including in-house in a publicly traded global technology company
  • Law degree from a recognized university, with excellent academic credentials and Bar membership
  • Prior experience in the technology industry
  • Experience supporting technical teams as product counsel, providing practical and creative legal support to enable development and launch of enterprise products or internal productivity tools
  • Experience advising technical stakeholders on legal issues including AI/ML, IP, data, security, privacy, trust, and regulatory compliance
  • Demonstrated track record of developing strategies to mitigate risk while enabling delivery of innovative technology solutions
  • Track record of negotiating and closing technology and commercial contracts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to provide clear, concise, and practical legal advice
  • Excellent teamwork skills, ability to partner and establish trusted working relationships with legal and business counterparts
  • Ability to travel as needed, approximately 2-4 times per year
  • Agility, responsiveness, and adaptability to change
