Job Description

This is a pivotal role that oversees the credit control and reconciliation functions within the organization, ensuring timely payments, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining strong client and insurer relationships. Reporting to the Asia Fiduciary Leader, this individual will collaborate closely with Accounting Operations, Controllership, and the business to monitor payment statuses, resolve outstanding collections, minimize risk of bad debts, and drive continuous improvement in collection and reconciliation processes. The Credit Control Leader will play a key role in safeguarding the company’s financial health while supporting business growth through effective collection activities and stakeholder engagement.
Must have:
  • Oversee collections, ensuring timely receivables and minimizing overdue balances.
  • Develop preventive measures for customer payment timeliness and improve collection efficiency.
  • Manage escalation for overdue accounts, including negotiations and dispute resolution.
  • Track and report on receivables, collection performance, and bad debt metrics.
  • Resolve collection and payment queries, referring to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Drive and participate in transformation projects for continuous improvement.
  • Streamline processes with Asia Fiduciary Leader, aligning strategy with regional needs.
  • Work on annual strategy setting, budgeting, and alignment with country budgets.
  • Create reports and dashboards for financial, operational, and strategic insights.
  • Lead and develop credit control team, fostering accuracy, compliance, and improvement.
  • Mentor team members on reconciliation, collection, and dispute resolution.
  • Manage escalation for overdue accounts to ensure timely payments.
  • Manage team workload distribution to meet SLAs and productivity targets.
  • Provide training and guidance on collection procedures and best practices.
  • Perform reconciliation of premiums, commissions, and fees, resolving discrepancies.
  • Review and prepare insurer and customer statement reconciliations.
  • Investigate and resolve issues related to customer accounts, insurers, and reinsurers.

Job Details

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Fiduciary Operations team. This role will be based in Singapore. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

This is a pivotal role that oversees the credit control and reconciliation functions within the organization, ensuring timely payments, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining strong client and insurer relationships. Reporting to the Asia Fiduciary Leader, this individual will collaborate closely with Accounting Operations, Controllership, and the business to monitor payment statuses, resolve outstanding collections, minimize risk of bad debts, and drive continuous improvement in collection and reconciliation processes.

The Credit Control Leader will report to the Asia Fiduciary leader with a dotted line reporting to Singapore Operations Leader, and he will play a key role in safeguarding the company’s financial health while supporting business growth through effective collection activities and stakeholder engagement. The role requires a blend of leadership, analytical skills, and operational expertise to ensure accurate and efficient cash collection and account reconciliation.

We will count on you to:

Minimizing Bad Debt & Collections Optimization

  • Oversee the collections process, ensuring timely collection of receivables and minimizing overdue balances.
  • Develop preventive measures to strengthen customer payment timeliness and implement strategies to improve collection efficiency, reduce days receivables outstanding (DRO), and enhance cash flow.
  • Manage escalation processes for overdue accounts, including negotiations and dispute resolution.
  • Track and report on key metrics related to receivables, collection performance, and bad debt.
  • Track, monitor, and resolve collection and payment-specific queries, referring to appropriate stakeholders such as Finance, Operations, Brokers, and management for resolution

Regional Fiduciary value stream alignment

  • Drive and participate in key transformation projects and projects that drive continuous improvement, developing best practices, ensuring alignment against financial target and objectives.
  • Work with Asia Fiduciary Leader to streamline processes and ensure strategy is aligned with regional needs and priorities
  • Work on annual strategy setting, budgeting, etc., and alignment of strategy and budget with country budgets and growth and operational requirements
  • Creating reports and dashboards to provide insights for financial, operational and strategic reporting

Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership

  • Lead and develop the credit control team, fostering a high-performance culture focused on accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement
  • Mentor team members and new hires, ensuring they achieve competency in reconciliation, collection, and dispute resolution processes
  • Manage escalation processes for overdue accounts, including negotiations and dispute resolution to ensure timely payments
  • Manage team workload distribution to meet SLAs and productivity targets.
  • Provide training and guidance to internal teams on collection procedures, and best practices.

Premiums, Commissions, and Fees Reconciliation

  • Perform reconciliation of premiums,, commissions, and fees, including tracking and resolving discrepancies.
  • Review and prepare insurer and customer statement reconciliations, following up to clear un-identified or unreconciled items.
  • Investigate, discuss, and resolve issues related to customer accounts, insurers, and reinsurers, including queries raised by finance, brokers, or underwriters regarding outstanding payments

What you need to have:

  • 7+ years of experience in credit management, accounts receivable, or related finance roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Strong understanding of financial analysis, and bad debt prevention strategies.
  • Experience working within financial services, insurance, or a related industry is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across functions.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism in handling sensitive financial information.
