Job Summary

WDAF FOX4 in Kansas City is seeking a collaborative, technically skilled CTV Coordinator to lead the growth and daily operation of our streaming channel WDAF+. This role involves overseeing the development, programming, and technical reliability of the WDAF+ streaming channel. You will collaborate with the newsroom and creative services staff to build original local content using OBS Studio, manage live and recorded productions, and ensure consistent playback quality.

Job Description

WDAF FOX4 in Kansas City is seeking a collaborative, technically skilled CTV Coordinator to lead the growth and daily operation of our streaming channel WDAF+. The ideal candidate has experience in both broadcast and digital, understands CTV platforms, and possesses strong technical proficiency. A proven record of producing or managing special projects is desired.

This role will oversee the development, programming, and technical reliability of the WDAF+ streaming channel. You will collaborate with the newsroom and creative services staff to build original local content using OBS Studio, manage live and recorded productions, ensure consistent playback quality, and maintain the technical infrastructure that powers our CTV presence. This role will also oversee internal syndication and programming grids, ensuring efficient scheduling, content flow, and operational consistency across the platform.

Key Responsibilities

Content Creation & Production (OBS Studio–Focused)

  • Build and manage multi-layered OBS scenes (video, graphics, text, browser sources, audio, screen capture, etc.) for live and VOD local content.
  • Operate OBS Studio during live productions, using tools such as the Stream Deck for streamlined scene switching and control, along with real-time audio/video mixing, Studio Mode, scene transitions, and source filters.
  • Maintain graphics templates, lower-thirds, and reusable scene layouts for efficient content turnaround.

CTV Platform Development

  • Oversee the expansion of WDAF+ programming, including show development, scheduling, internal syndication, and maintenance of programming grids.
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, content, and sales teams to deliver high-impact features and streaming quality, to ensure optimal delivery and viewer experience across all CTV devices.
  • Monitor analytics and audience engagement to guide programming strategy.

Technical Operations & Maintenance

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for technical issues related to the CTV channel, OBS workflows, and supporting hardware/software.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues in real time, especially during live productions.
  • Manage camera configurations, audio levels, lighting basics, and on-set troubleshooting to support talent and content teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, digital media, or equivalent work experience.
  • Demonstrated experience producing digital or broadcast content.
  • Hands-on experience with OBS Studio or equivalent broadcasting software.
