Job Summary

The Data & AI Strategist helps companies transition from data-aware to data-driven and AI-enabled. This role involves defining strategies and execution paths with C-levels and stakeholders, integrating into the Data & AI Strategy team to leverage data for business objectives. Responsibilities include strategic leadership, AI advisory, identifying opportunities for Data, ML, and Generative AI, roadmapping, and trend analysis. The strategist also facilitates workshops, bridges the gap between business and technical teams, translates requirements, and communicates the business value of AI solutions.

Must Have

  • Collaborate with C-level executives to define robust data strategies and AI roadmaps
  • Analyze existing value chains to identify high-impact opportunities for Data, Machine Learning, and Generative AI
  • Prepare project roadmaps and trajectory reports
  • Stay ahead of the latest trends in Cloud BI, Data Analytics, and AI
  • Lead client workshops, brainstorming sessions, and meetings
  • Work alongside Data Engineers, Cloud Architects, and Change Managers
  • Translate high-level business requirements into clear user stories and functional specifications
  • Create storytelling presentations demonstrating business value of data and AI solutions
  • 4+ years of experience in data-related projects (Data Warehouse, Machine Learning, Cloud Solutions)
  • Strategic mindset, managing international stakeholders
  • Understanding of data functions, cloud platforms (GCP, Azure, AWS), and AI project lifecycle
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent client-facing communication skills
  • Based in The Netherlands, willing to commute to Amsterdam and travel to customers
  • Fluent in spoken and written English

Good to Have

  • Practical experience with data governance concepts and their impact on AI ethics and compliance
  • Experience supporting change management activities for technology transformation projects, specifically PROSCI ADKAR methodologies
  • Practical experience with GCP (Bigquery, Looker, VertexAI, Gemini)
  • A Master's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field
  • Dutch in a business context

What will be your role

The role of the Data & AI Strategist is to help companies evolve from being data-aware to becoming fully data-driven and AI-enabled. As companies increasingly shift their focus from traditional data use cases to advanced AI applications, your role is to define the right strategy and execution path together with the C-levels and key stakeholders of our customers.

You will integrate into the Data & AI Strategy team, playing a crucial role in helping customers leverage their data to achieve business objectives. You act as the bridge between business goals and technical execution, ensuring that data and AI investments drive tangible business value.

Your Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & AI Advisory

  • Define Strategy: Collaborate with C-level executives to define robust data strategies and AI roadmaps that align with long-term business goals.
  • Identify Data & AI Opportunities: Analyze existing value chains to identify high-impact opportunities where Data, Machine Learning, and Generative AI can solve complex business problems.
  • Roadmapping: Prepare project roadmaps and trajectory reports in collaboration with business stakeholders and internal technical teams.
  • Trend Analysis: Stay ahead of the latest trends in Cloud BI, Data Analytics, and AI to advise clients on how these technologies can enhance business performance.

Execution & Collaboration

  • Facilitate Workshops: Lead client workshops, brainstorming sessions, and meetings to gather requirements, define success criteria, and validate proposed data and AI solutions.
  • Bridge the Gap: Work alongside our Data Engineers, Cloud Architects, and Change Managers to ensure the defined strategy is technically feasible and executed correctly.
  • Requirements Translation: Translate high-level business requirements into clear user stories and functional specifications for technical teams.
  • Value Communication: Create storytelling presentations that demonstrate the business value of implemented data and AI solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.

What we look for

  • Experience: 4+ years of experience as a Business/Functional Analyst, Data Strategist, Project & Change Manager, or Consultant with a focus on data-related projects (Data Warehouse, Machine Learning, Cloud Solutions).
  • Strategic Mindset: Proven track record of working with longer sales/project cycles and managing international stakeholders.
  • Tech Savvy: You are not necessarily a Cloud Architect or Data Engineer by background, but you have a "helicopter understanding" of how data functions, how cloud platforms work (GCP, Azure, AWS), and the lifecycle of AI projects.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze business processes and map them to technical data solutions.
  • Communication: Excellent client-facing skills with a talent for storytelling, problem-solving, and managing stakeholders at various organizational levels.
  • Education: A Master's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Location: You are based in The Netherlands, willing to commute to the Amsterdam area to our headquarters once a week, and to travel to our customers.
  • Languages: You are fluent in both spoken and written English, Dutch in a business context is a plus.
