Job Summary
The Data Analyst in Data Operations at S&P Global is crucial for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of corporate data, impacting client satisfaction and market competitiveness. This role involves researching and collecting profile-level data for public and private companies, managing stakeholder relationships, and contributing to data collection methods. The analyst will extract, standardize, and validate data, mentor researchers, and analyze inconsistencies using SQL and advanced Excel to deliver high-quality data solutions.
Must Have
- Act as the SME, addressing queries around collection methodologies from internal teams and clients.
- Build subject matter expertise in various workflows and processes within the dataset.
- Manage effective stakeholder relationships with Data Management and Quality teams.
- Understand Corporate Profiles workflow and data structures to ensure seamless data flow.
- Extract, collect, standardize, and validate profiles and industry classification data.
- Mentor and act as a QA for production researchers.
- Convert raw complex data into easy-to-understand information through data visualization.
- Analyse and uncover inconsistencies in large datasets using SQL knowledge.
- Propose solutions to address inconsistencies through automated/manual audits.
- Post-Graduation: MBA/M. Com/PGDM.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a team environment while following flexible schedules to meet deadlines.
- Capable of taking new initiatives and demonstrating resourcefulness.
- Strong attention to detail and a persistent approach to work.
- Good technical skills, including SQL, Advanced Excel, and reporting tools.
- Ability to interact with various levels and handle issues in a mature and professional manner.

About the Role:
Grade Level (for internal use): 07
The Team: The Corporate Profiles, GICS & Industry Classifications team is involved in research and collection of profile level data for private and public companies operating across industries/geographies. It has operations in Ahmedabad, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, and Manila. The team collects profile related information including name, basic details such as address and year founded, primary business, industry classification etc. that provides in-depth, accurate and timely data to the clients.

By addressing queries and building subject matter expertise, the Lead Data Analyst enhances data quality, directly impacting client satisfaction and market competitiveness. Responsibilities:

- Extract, collect, standardize, and validate profiles and industry classification data for public and private companies from various sources per guidelines.
- Mentor and act as a QA for production researchers.
- Convert raw complex data into easy-to-understand information through data visualization.
- Analyse and uncover inconsistencies in large datasets (both in-house and from third-party vendors) using SQL knowledge and propose solutions to address them through automated/manual audits
What We’re Looking For:
