Job Description

As a Data Engineer on the Enterprise Data team at iManage, you will implement, support, and extend our Enterprise Data Lake on Microsoft Azure. You will gather requirements from business units, craft solutions for critical business data access, and become an expert in disparate enterprise SaaS system data models. You will develop schemas and data pipelines, integrating with machine learning platforms and business intelligence tools, while working with Delta Lake architecture and medallion data lake design.
Good To Have:
  • Experience with Delta Lake and medallion architecture for data storage.
  • Experience with one or more tools for real-time data streaming, such as Microsoft Event Hub or Apache Kafka.
  • Experience architecting data models.
Must Have:
  • Use Python and PySpark for ETL into Enterprise Data Lake using a medallion architecture.
  • Learn and use system-specific APIs to extract data from enterprise SaaS applications (Totango, Salesforce, Zendesk).
  • Define data pipelines to write data with high accuracy to enterprise SaaS applications.
  • Develop semantic models to support business intelligence tools like Power BI.
  • Migrate pipelines, Spark notebooks, triggers, semantic models, and Power BI dashboards from Microsoft Synapse to Microsoft Fabric.
  • Gather data requirements from various business stakeholders and translate them into deliverables.
  • Work in an agile fashion aligned with team Agile Methodologies.
  • Adhere to team standards for secrets management and change control.
  • Apply best practices to ensure the security and privacy of data repositories.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent field.
  • 1-2 years of experience working with data in a business setting.
  • Proficiency with data extraction, manipulation and reporting with Transact-SQL, Spark, Python, and REST APIs.
  • Proficiency designing data pipelines with a cloud-native mindset.
  • Experience with relational databases and data warehouse design using star schemas.

As a Data Engineer on the Enterprise Data team, you implement, support, and extend our Enterprise Data Lake that is hosted on Microsoft Azure. You gather requirements from iManage business units and craft solutions which provide access to critical business data. You will become an in-house expert in the data models of multiple, disparate enterprise SaaS systems and provide recommendations and solutions for consolidation, transformation, and integration of the disparate data sources. You will develop schemas and data pipelines for our Enterprise Data Lake and provide integration with machine learning platforms and business intelligence tools. You are enthusiastic about Delta Lake architecture and understand concepts of Delta Lake and a medallion data lake design.

iM Responsible For…

  • Using Python and PySpark to extract, transform, and load data into our Enterprise Data Lake using a medallion architecture.
  • Learning and using system-specific APIs to extract data from a wide-variety enterprise SaaS applications, including Totango, Salesforce, and Zendesk.
  • Defining data pipelines to write data with a high degree of accuracy to enterprise SaaS applications such as Totango, Salesforce, and Zendesk.
  • Developing semantic models to support business intelligence tools like Power BI.
  • Migration of pipelines, Spark notebooks, triggers, semantic models, and Power BI dashboards from Microsoft Synapse to Microsoft Fabric.
  • Gathering data requirements from various business stakeholders and translating these requirements into deliverables which provide value to the business.

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent field.
  • 1-2 years of experience working with data in a business setting.

  • Proficiency designing data pipelines with a cloud-native mindset.

  • A passion to be a thought leader and work collaboratively within a team.
  • A creative mindset with a desire to explore new technologies and create innovative solutions.

The overall US annual base salary range for this position is $87,000–$135,000 per year. Individual compensation for each candidate depends on factors such as qualifications, experience, and candidate location. This range does not include additional forms of compensation, such as bonuses, commission, or benefits.
