Ziff Davis Shopping, a division of Ziff Davis, is seeking a data-savvy Data Engineer for TDS Gift Cards. This role focuses on owning critical data engineering and analytics efforts, blending traditional data engineering with internal consulting. Responsibilities include automating data cleaning, optimizing reporting pipelines, responding to ad-hoc analysis needs, and supporting infrastructure like Redshift and Sisense BI. The goal is to reduce bottlenecks and ensure timely, clean, and trustworthy data for over 60 internal users and partners. The company operates globally with offices in the US, Mexico City, Brazil, Australia, France, and the UK, fostering an entrepreneurial and fast-paced environment.
Must have:
- 3+ years in data engineering/analytics
- Strong SQL and Python skills
- Experience with Airflow
- Knowledge of data warehouse architecture
- Experience with large datasets and upsert strategies
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently
Good to have:
- Familiarity with Pandas
- Experience with Sisense
- Experience with BI tools (Sisense, Superset, Looker, Metabase)
- Experience with finance/audit teams

TDS Gift Cards, a division of Ziff Davis, is a leading platform solution for global Prepaid/Gift Card processing and program management. About The Role:
We’re seeking a data-savvy, execution-oriented individual to take ownership of several critical data engineering and analytics efforts at TDS. This is a high-impact role that blends traditional data engineering with internal consulting, owning core pipelines, improving data reliability, and supporting internal and external stakeholders with insights.
You’ll be responsible for automating data cleaning, optimizing reporting pipelines, responding to ad-hoc analysis needs, and supporting key infrastructure like our Redshift warehouse and Sisense BI layer. This role will reduce bottlenecks in our small but nimble engineering team and help ensure our 60+ internal users and partners have access to timely, clean, and trustworthy data.
What You’ll Do:
- Design and maintain Airflow DAGs to automate data cleaning, ingestion, and transformation workflow
- Own upsert logic and reliability for pipelines that process batch exports across multiple data warehouses
- Build reporting pipelines and tools that support essential business processes for Sales and Finance
- Collaborate with business users (especially operations and finance) to understand and fulfill ad-hoc data needs
- Ingest, normalize, and QA large-scale file drops
- Take ownership of our BI Layer data model, optimizing dashboards and supporting internal users
- Support better retail operations data hygiene through automated validation and labeling systems
- Translate business problems into technical solutions using SQL, Python, and cloud-based tools
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in a data engineering or analytics role
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python
- Experience with Apache Airflow for orchestrating data workflows
- Understanding of modern data warehouse architecture (preferably Redshift, Postgres, MSSQL)
- Experience working with large datasets and incremental loading/upsert strategies
- Strong communication skills and comfort working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Pandas and Python-based ETL/data processing workflows
- Experience working with Sisense, especially data modeling and dashboard optimization
- Experience with BI tools such as Sisense, Superset, Looker, or Metabase
- Experience working with finance or audit teams (e.g. month-end close, reconciliation, variance analysis)
- Exposure to cloud storage (e.g. AWS S3) and file-based ingestion (CSV, XLSX, etc.)
