Job Description

The Data Literacy Coordinator will be the dedicated driver of a data-empowered culture across the organization, enhancing the collective ability to understand, engage with, and utilize data effectively to drive better business outcomes. This involves organizing high-impact internal events, leading key communication efforts, and ensuring targeted training. The coordinator will facilitate Data Town Halls, lead data branding, prepare leadership reports, assess training needs, coordinate training delivery, and support data capabilities, ultimately turning data strategy into tangible cultural change.

Must Have:
  • Organize and Facilitate Data Town Halls and similar internal community events
  • Lead Data Branding & Communication, developing high-quality internal communication materials
  • Prepare high-quality, concise slides and presentation materials for SteerCo meetings and senior management updates
  • Simplify Complex Ideas, translating data initiatives into strategic business narratives
  • Assess & Facilitate Training Needs, collaborating with business owners, Data Stewards, and HR/L&D
  • Coordinate Training Delivery, including organization, scheduling, deployment of programs and vendor management
  • Support Data Capabilities by facilitating learning pathways for effective data tool usage, basic data quality, and data-driven decision-making
  • Facilitate clear and consistent communication regarding the status and outcomes of literacy programs
  • Track and report on the effectiveness, participation, and impact of data literacy and culture initiatives
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent by experience) in Communications, Business, Organizational Development, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in a coordination, communications, training, or project management role
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels
  • Familiarity with core concepts of data literacy, data governance, and organizational change management

About the Role

The Data Literacy Coordinator will be the dedicated driver of a data-empowered culture across the organization. This position is central to enhancing our collective ability to understand, engage with, and utilize data effectively to drive better business outcomes. You will achieve this by organizing high-impact internal events, leading key communication efforts, and ensuring targeted training is in place to address the practical data needs of our employees.

The Coordinator is pivotal in turning data strategy into tangible cultural change through compelling internal marketing, effective coordination of learning programs, and professional communication to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

Data Culture & Internal Branding

  • Organize and Facilitate Data Town Halls: Plan, coordinate, and host engaging Data Town Halls and similar internal community events to communicate data strategy progress, share key data insights, and celebrate data-driven successes across the organization.
  • Lead Data Branding & Communication: Actively contribute to defining and executing the data branding and culture strategy. Develop high-quality internal communication materials (e.g., newsletters, intranet content, success stories) to continuously evangelize a "data-smart" culture.

Strategic Reporting & Stakeholder Communication

  • Prepare Leadership Slides: Create high-quality, concise slides and presentation materials for SteerCo (Steering Committee) meetings and senior management updates. Focus on clearly communicating the progress, challenges, and strategic impact of data culture and literacy initiatives.
  • Simplify Complex Ideas: Ensure that all communication to leadership and cross-functional teams is clear, compelling, and translates data initiatives into strategic business narratives.

Training Coordination & Development

  • Assess & Facilitate Training Needs: Collaborate with business owners, Data Stewards, and HR/L&D to identify and assess data training needs (skills gaps) across various business functions and technical roles.
  • Coordinate Training Delivery: Actively facilitate and coordinate the organization, scheduling, and deployment of necessary training programs, workshops, and learning resources (including vendor management where applicable) to address identified data competency needs.
  • Support Data Capabilities: Facilitate learning pathways that foster a deeper understanding of key data capabilities, such as effective data tool usage, basic data quality concepts, and the principles of data-driven decision-making.

Issue Resolution & Continuous Improvement

  • Feedback Mechanism: Facilitate clear and consistent communication regarding the status and outcomes of literacy programs, collecting feedback from users and stakeholders to ensure continuous relevance.
  • Metrics & Evaluation: Track and report on the effectiveness, participation, and impact of all data literacy and culture initiatives to inform future program design.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent by experience) in Communications, Business, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a coordination, communications, training, or project management role, preferably within a data, analytics, or technology environment.
  • Essential: Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with proven experience in building and delivering high-quality presentations (e.g., Google Slides) to diverse audiences.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Familiarity with core concepts of data literacy, data governance, and organizational change management.

Preferred Skills
