Data Scientist (Risk and fraud detection)

We are seeking a passionate Data Scientist to join our team. You will be instrumental in designing and developing machine learning models in the area of risk and fraud detection.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

• Analyse, design, and develop machine learning models for use cases related to fraud detection.
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to select the most appropriate machine learning solutions.
• Work closely with data engineers to identify and utilize the best datasets and data representation methods.
• Research and implement suitable machine learning algorithms and tools.
• Develop metrics and evaluation processes to measure the performance and impact of your models.
• Train, test, and retrain machine learning models to maintain and improve their accuracy.
• Collaborate with team members to deploy machine learning models to production environments.
• Utilise and, when necessary, extend existing machine learning libraries and frameworks.

Qualifications:

• A university degree in a numerical field (Machine Learning, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, etc.).
• Proven ability to understand, interpret, and explain business data.
• At least 3 years of work experience in the data science related field.
• Solid understanding of linear algebra and statistical modeling.
• Expertise in at least one machine learning field such as regression, classification, clustering, pattern mining, or optimization.
• Fluent in SQL
• Proficiency in Python, particularly with packages such as Pandas, Numpy, and Matplotlib (or equivalent).
• Experience with at least one machine learning framework such as Scikit-Learn, Keras, Tensorflow, Pytorch, or MLLib.
• Highly proficient in spoken and written English.
• Excellent communication skills and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
• A strong willingness to learn and stay updated on the latest trends in programming and machine learning.

Nice to Have:

• Knowledge of Scala or Java.
• Experience with deploying ML solutions to production.
• Experience with AWS or other cloud providers.
• Experience with Spark, Athena, Clickhouse, Postgres, Kubernetes, Docker.
