The Design Manager will create exceptional, insightful, and persuasive presentations, transforming concepts into impactful slide decks. This role requires proficiency in stakeholder and project management, workflow coordination, and task prioritization, proactively resolving challenges. Essential is prior experience leading a small team, deciding on internal versus outsourced resources. The manager will lead and mentor PPT designers, collaborate with partners, manage project timelines, and enforce design standards, ensuring high-quality visual communications for a life sciences consulting firm.
Must have:

Purpose of Job

The ideal candidate will have a knack for creating exceptional presentations that are not just visually appealing, but insightful, clear, and persuasive. They can effortlessly transform a quick sketch or abstract concept into polished, impactful slide decks that resonate with the audience.

Additionally, this person must be proficient at stakeholder management, project management, workflow coordination, and task prioritization. They're proactive about anticipating and resolving challenges to keep projects on track. Prior experience leading a small team and deciding when to utilize internal resources versus outsourcing to freelancers is essential.

We'll trust you to:

  • Actively lead and mentor our team of PPT designers, supporting their growth, elevating our overall visual storytelling standards, and directly contributing to hands-on design work.
  • Collaborate closely with partners and proposal teams, bringing their strategic ideas to life visually.
  • Manage project intake, timelines, and resourcing to ensure quality work is delivered on time.
  • Assess workload and proactively manage resources, including hiring or outsourcing as needed.
  • Own, set, and enforce Beghou's design standards and guidelines, ensuring consistency and quality across all client-facing and internal visual communications.
  • Guides freelance or junior marketing designers when needed (you'll oversee quality but not necessarily execute all marketing design yourself).

You'll need to have:

  • 8+ years’ experience in presentation or visual storytelling, ideally in management consulting, professional services firms, startups, or similar environments involving extensive pitch deck creation or executive-level presentations.
  • Demonstrable skill in transforming rough ideas into clear, compelling visuals.
  • Experience managing a team, prioritizing tasks, negotiating deadlines, and ensuring consistently high-quality output.
  • Expert proficiency in PowerPoint and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (especially Illustrator).
  • Familiarity with marketing design principles (social media visuals, branding assets, etc.).
  • Experience working with freelancers or external agencies.
