SailPoint is seeking a DevOps Manager to lead a UAE-based team responsible for triage, data store operations, SRE, and DevOps work for SaaS products in the UAE region. This role involves balancing innovation, engineering, and customer support, ensuring high uptime, improving CI/CD processes, and managing costs while adhering to strict information security and compliance standards. The ideal candidate will have experience leading DevOps teams and a strong technical background in 24x7 production operations, preferably with AWS.
Must Have
- Lead and mentor a DevOps team.
- Ensure consistent high-pace delivery and meet deadlines.
- Balance and prioritize team workload across innovation, engineering, customer support, and tech debt.
- Maximize uptime and author customer-facing root cause analyses.
- Iterate on and improve CI/CD processes.
- Control costs to ensure target gross margin is achieved.
- Develop and improve operational practices and procedures.
- Proactively meet standards for information security and compliance (ISO27001, SOC1, SOC2, PCI, IRAP, C5, FedRAMP).
- 2+ years in a management role, preferably in DevOps or Site Reliability.
- 5+ years hands-on experience as a DevOps or SRE Engineer in 24x7 production operations, supporting a highly available environment for a SaaS or cloud service provider (AWS strongly preferred).
- Ability to evangelize a philosophy around automation and testing.
- History of leveraging data to objectively measure impact and optimize people/engineering processes.
- Physically located in the UAE.

Job Description
DevOps Manager
- This is a remote position; however, you will also have access to an office for team gatherings and planning sessions as needed. Due to the requirements of UAE customers, this position requires being physically located in the UAE. In-person interviews will be required.

We're searching for a DevOps Manager with experience working on and leading DevOps teams for one or more SaaS products. Ideally, you're a former DevOps Engineer that has made the move to management and still have a solid grasp on the technical side of what your team does. You already know that excellent communication skills are a must, since you'll be collaborating with Services, Support, Product, and Software Engineering on a regular basis. Our company and team are growing incredibly quickly, and we want someone that's excited to deal with the challenges that come with growth and scale!
As a DevOps Manager you will be responsible for the UAE DevOps team that performs triage, data store operation, SRE, and DevOps work in our product running in the UAE region. You will work closely with Software Engineers and DevOps Engineers alike. You will partner with leaders at all levels across the organization on making our product work while meeting data sovereignty requirements.
What you will make happen:
- Ensure your team is consistently delivering at a high pace and meeting deadlines
- Balance and prioritize team workload across innovation, engineering support, customer support, and tech debt
- Continue to hire, develop, and mentor best in class DevOps Engineers
- Maximize uptime across all product lines and help author customer facing root cause analyses for any interruptions in service
- Iterate on and improve our CI/CD processes
- Control costs to ensure target gross margin is achieved
- Develop and improve operational practices and procedures
- Proactively meet standards for information security and compliance, such as ISO27001, SOC1, SOC2, PCI, IRAP, C5, FedRAMP, etc.
Background & Experience:
- 2+ years in a management role, preferably in DevOps or Site Reliability, over a team managing public cloud infrastructure
- 5+ years of hands on experience as a DevOps or SRE Engineer in 24x7 production operations, preferably supporting a highly available environment for a SaaS or cloud service provider; AWS strongly preferred
- A track record of providing a superior customer experience
- The ability to evangelize a philosophy around automation and testing
- A passion for creating a culture of inclusiveness and compassion
- A history of leveraging data to objectively measure impact and optimize people / engineering processes
Due to the requirements of UAE customers, this position requires being physically located in the UAE.

What success looks like in the role
Within the first 30 days you will:
- Complete IPS onboarding guidelines
- Completed any training required by compliance or cyber security
- Work on hiring the team
- Setup stand-ups and Kanban or sprint planning for the team
- Aware of on-call rotation and incidents
- Learn the Rootly escalation path
- Review and understand the SailPoint SDLC
- Setup regular 1x1s with team members
By 90 days:
- Involved in past quarterly review, capacity review, future quarterly planning
- Have a strong understanding of the observability and monitoring capabilities of the team and any gaps that may exist
- Have a strong understanding of the tech debt backlog and prioritization for the team
- Begin leading and taking full accountability for projects
- Identifying upcoming leaders and mentoring engineers
- Identify areas of improvement for the team and review team health metrics, make adjustments as necessary
- Continue to unblock the team and keep them on track
- Present trade-offs when appropriate
- Review external spend vs budget monthly
By 6 months:
- Assign and review technical design documents authored by the team
- Enable team members to contribute to team demos, lunch & learns, and tech council meetings
By 1 year:
- Complete performance reviews and merit recommendations
